I am not shocked to see this from the winning school.

Lol I actually typed out "another classy performance", but I deleted it lolnewarkcatholicfan wrote:I am not shocked to see this from the winning school.
I feel bad for the kids from Court House, but, Ready won't get out of the Region. I don't care how many teams they try to embarrass between now and week 12. I honestly don't expect them to be playing by Week 13.
Re: columbus ready 98 washington court house 20
Ready better get ready to strap it on with the sked they have the rest of the way. Im sure the coaches of teams that beat them, will beat them down!

Not one of you know the basics of how this game unfolded. Maybe they had a bunch of defensive points?

Maybe they did ;) And, if I feel bad for my remarks when I read the Dispatch in the morning, I'll be sure to post a retraction. How many defensive points did they score and at what point in the game did they score them?Pol Pot wrote:Not one of you know the basics of how this game unfolded. I just finished looking at the box score from the Ready win over Court House and the Knights had 1 kickoff return for a TD (made the score 91-14) and 1 punt return for a TD (made the score 49-7). They also threw a touchdown pass up 56-7 to start the second half scoring with who I believe to be their starting quarterback. Of course, it could have been an underneath route that the kid simply broke loose on. Either way, they didn't score a bunch of defensive points.Jesco White wrote:Maybe they did ;) And, if I feel bad for my remarks when I read the Dispatch in the morning, I'll be sure to post a retraction. Maybe it is time for Ohio to take the rules that some states have gone to. In the second half if a school is up over 35 points they move to a running clock. In a few states the coach that beats a team by more than 50 is fined and suspended. Just remember every dog has his day!

Now I really hope valley gets to play them in the playoffs. I don't care there is no excuses to scoring that much. Game should have been called.

They scored 91 in 3 quarters. I have no problems at all with it. You can't tell kids to stop playing hard. Now, if it was 56 after 3 and they dropped 42 in the 4th, then we can talk.
Re: columbus ready 98 washington court house 20
Up 56-7 at half their JV's better have scored the last 42 points which it doesn't sound like they did. I'm all for having your kids play hard for 4 quarters but your JV better be the ones playing hard at the end of the game.Crab's brother wrote:They scored 91 in 3 quarters. at first glance, I thought it was basketball score posted under the wrong topic, then I read further posts. Ready better hope they don't have an off year, or the coaches have a short memory.

Unfortunate, but if the JV or second string squad on every possession after half-time or on special teams or defensively scored points there is not much you could do.
I have seen some teams though when they get the ball back, not even run an offensive play, and just punt it back to the other team and run defense the entire 4th quarter.
The wheel turns though and sooner or later everyone is on the opposite end of a beat down at some point in your playing or coaching career.

I am not going to judge anything on by a posted score. Maybe Ready did run it up? Or, maybe they played their second and third teams for an extended period of time? Remember a couple of weeks ago, when Coach Meyer and the Buckeyes were vilified for the 76-0 win over Florida A&M? However, in the entire second half, the Buckeyes ran between the tackles and did not throw once. Moreover, Guiton would not have played any in the third quarter if Jones hadn't cut his hand, which was stitched and butterflied so that he could enter the game. The point is, we were not there, and some of us are speculating. However, if Ready did run it up, I hope that they get theirs. Not a big fan of private schools anyways.
Another thing, some on here are complaining about the score. However, I say as adults we cannot continue to foster this "wussification" of America's youth. "Ah, they shouldn't have done that." or "They were mean and scored to many points." or personal favorite "They should have just given us the ball." We are no longer the greatest country in the world because we have become soft. You baby boomers and your kids who have kids, quit coddling your children, they are not a dozen eggs you bring home from the store. They are humans, and they are our future, they need to have a little thicker skin. This nation has become a country of unrealistic expectations and entitlements because everyone gets a freaking trophy. ENOUGH! How about saying something like this; "They were definitely a better team." or "You have learned lessons from this experience. Can you put them to practice?" or my personal favorite "Yeah, you got your butt kicked. What are YOU going to about it? Are you going work to get better or are you going to let this defeat you?"
In the end, Karma, has a way of settling the score and if Ready was malicious, well, they will get theirs.

Re: columbus ready 98 washington court house 20
HP - This one goes up close to the top of the best posts that I've ever read on here. I was sitting here reading this thread, thinking the same thing, as you were typing it. Way too much whining on here about scores and coaches actions this morning. You are right, Karma does have a way of coming back to bite the rear end of those who do others wrong, and based on some threads on here this morning, some feel that Mike Bartrum (Meigs), the Ready head coach, and the Fairland head coach are all despicable human beings based on the outcome of their games last night. Well, time will tell.hawkeyepierce wrote:I am not going to judge anything on by a posted score. Maybe Ready did run it up?
