Chesapeake's team, new field
Chesapeake's team, new field
Peake's new facility loox GREAT! It woulda been completed sooner, if not for the low-life thieves who stole a quantity of copper tubing and wire from the site.
Any thoughts on this year's team? Its returning members illl have the nightmare of playing all away games behind them, & will most likely be tickled pink at being the first team to use the new facilities. But, will this translate into Ws on the field?
Peake's non-conference schedule is very challenging, as usual, opening against always-tuff Oak Hill, then against Wayne, WV, which didn't lose a lotta members of its State Champion "Team For The Ages" last year, which crushed every opponent, including Peake. And I believe, in the conference, that South Point and Rock Hill will be much-improved, as will River Valley, with the others being their usual rugged selves.
Coach Andy Clark, staff, & players will have their work cut out for them, as there's not one "pud" on their schedule. Is Peake up to the challenge? YOUR thoughts, please?

Re: Chesapeake's team, new field
I made a special trip across the bridge after work Wednesday morning just to get a look at the place. Looks fantastic. Totally different place. Looked like the visiting bleachers are identical in fashion to the old ones best I could tell, but I couldn't see them very well. Very few places you see go about 100 yards long down the field.
It's a first class facility and one that community should be proud of...and I'm sure they already are.
Looking forward to visiting for a game in September.

Looking forward to seeing Chesapeake's new facility. Oak Hill is there in the opener.
What is the new press box like?
Thanks in advance for any information.

Re: Chesapeake's team, new field
Now that I can see it from that angle, looks like there are fewer visiting bleachers than before...by about 30-40 yards. Yikes...could be an issue. Of course, LOTS of hillside space available with great views, so that helps.
The pressbox, as the pictures show, appears to have about 3x the amount of viewable space as the old one. The old pressbox was basically a storage building with a few windows in the upstairs portion. There seems to be lots more window space now.
Is it football season yet :/
