Re: Wk 8: Portsmouth @ Fairland
What happened to Portsmouth this year?? Thought going into this season they were supposed to be sporting a 7-8 win team at least

This game could surprise some fans on either side of the field. Portsmouth has the talent of a 8-9 win team, but just to put together a complete game. I'm going with Portsmouth 36-32

Well that's part of the game but hate to hear that, I know there was some chatter before season started that they should have a pretty solid team.Jolly P(irate) wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2017 3:34 amInjuries.greygoose wrote: Tue Oct 10, 2017 12:40 am What happened to Portsmouth this year?? Toss-up here I think Fairland has things going one way and sounds like Portsmouth is going another way after high expectations. I will take the Dragons.

This should be a great game, and as cliche as it sounds, I think it will come down to which team has the last possession of the ball.
I agree with those folks assessing this will be a shootout. Both teams have played some tough games, and the Trojans have had some tough losses (see the Coal Grove (lost by 5) and Gallia game (lost by 1). I'm going to give the home field advantage to Fairland, plus it's homecoming, so I think the excitement of that atmosphere will help them out.
Dragons 35
Trojans 28

Re: Wk 8: Portsmouth @ Fairland
I had this as a win before the season began, but I'm having a different feeling about this game now. The Trojans can win, but good play on both sides of the scrimmage line is a must for PHS to come away with a W. Portsmouth is still looking for its first win against a team with a winning record. So far, counting last season (6-4) and the first 7 games of 2017 (3-4), the Trojans have only 1 win vs. a team with a winning record (last year vs. Rock Hill, 33-32).
PHS must contain the Dragons explosive running game. Last year's game was a 51-46 Trojan win, and the scoreboard will probably get a good workout Friday night. GO TROJANS!!

Re: Wk 8: Portsmouth @ Fairland
TrojanDave. My same thoughts. Port.smouth has down graded schedule over last 5-10 years to a weak ovc schedule and still can't beat a team with a winning record with this schedule. So something is not right . It appears the talent is still there, so 3-4record. SEOALwas a good fit I think for Portsmouth, playing teams on a higher level makes you better in long run, so where has playing OVC teams got Portsmouth. Wish the Portsmouth squad much luck. Portsmouth should take Fairland and win out.

Cunningham has to get 25 or more touches this game. Portsmouth has the athletes to match up well against the Dragons. If he gets his touches and they force a couple turnover like last week the Dragons should win this one by 2 tds.

Are both teams healthy for this game? Hadn't seen anyone's mention any injuries .
Re: Wk 8: Portsmouth @ Fairland
Portsmouth is pretty healthy Parker might not be 100% rest of year. But from what I here he is about as healthy as he is going to get about 90 to 95% of himself.
