Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
Yea Green should probably forfeit and get ready for hoops season.

Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
Another rough one for Green, running clock but Eastern will keep it somewhat clean, 40-0
Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
They've got Eastern, Northwest and Oak Hill left. Northwest is their only chance at another victory and I'd put that at slim. See how Northwest fairs against ND this week to get a better idea
Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
Ouch. I’ll pull for the Bobcats WK 9 then. They’ll take their lumps this week and WK 10
Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
I heard Green is down to 13 players. Best of luck the rest of the season.

I say shut the program down for a couple years then maybe opening it back up after they get more kids wanting to play

Sad to say it but Green has only had a few winning seasons sprinkled in with a whole bunch do losing seasons in the past 20 years. Any athlete that is serious about playing transfers out of the school and plays elsewhere. Only having 13-15 players shows the lack of interest. Prob wouldn't hurt to do away with the program..

Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
Hopefully the result is better for Green than it was week 3 vs another Eastern Eagles team. That one was 41-0
Re: SOC1 Eastern Pike @ Green
I will throw this out there. As a long time coach I have seen high school age participation down in all sports across the board. You don't feel it as bad at bigger schools like burg and even Waverly. But it is there. Some of the best youth players from Waverly are not playing now in high school and it may have hurt a potential champ season. That has been an issue and it happens. But now in the time of instant gratification, smart phones and Xbox there is less desire in kids to find accomplishment through effort. The reason I mention this is because I don't foresee it getting better any time soon.Buckeyefan55 wrote: Thu Oct 12, 2017 1:16 am Sad to say it but Green has only had a few winning seasons sprinkled in with a whole bunch do losing seasons in the past 20 years. Greens best shot at building a good program was with the coach they have in there right now. He has done everything to start refurbishing that program. He is also a well respected and knowledgeable coach. He played D1 football himself. But there is still the issue of green losing players to better programs instead of building this one up. He will be a huge asset to any school he lands at. It is a shame. I hate seeing schools lose programs with any history. But it will be hard for green football to recover.
