Walnut Ridge escapes Watkins Memorial 24-13

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

Entertaining game last night in Pataskala. Neither team look great but that did not mean there was not a lot of hard hitting action, from both team at times.
The Scots had several flags thrown on them causing many of their fans to ask for new refs. After watching the replay, after getting home from the game all I can say is the refs did a fine job.

More on the game.

I watched it on The CW here in c-bus, "Thursday night lights" game of the week. The sophomore QB got killed in the first half for Watkins but stayed healthy 2nd half and got a little better. Ridge blew'em out last year but they kept it respectable this time. City league teams always have tons of penalties but the refs did do a good job in this one. Athletes galore for the Scots but they have trouble playing as a TEAM. I went to watch these same teams play at Walnut Ridge "Peanut Hill" a few years back and gunfire erupted, delayed the game but resumed it after the culprits were caught. You never know what's gonna happen.

Randy Rhinehart and ex-buckeye Jeff Logan do the games on the CW. They mentioned that the Logan - Chillicothe game is going to be televised this year for their first trip ever below the Lancaster line for "Thursday night lights".

Watkins line especially on offense was not winning the battle.
