Is OVC the Best Football Conference?

Is the OVC now the best Football Conference in our area. For years it was the SOC but they seem to be trending downward. I think the OVC is much stronger this year. Didn’t think I would see the day the OVC as the best football conference.

Very small sample in the first 3 weeks, i agree it might not be until the playoffs to know for sure. I think OVC vs SOC 2 is a more fair comparison.

Good chance the SOC goes 3-0

For years the Soc 2 was way better. The gap has been closing lately but I'm not sure the OVC has completely caught up. It would be interesting to see what the head to head has been over the last several years.

Luckily there's 10 weeks to decide a season and not week 1. Rock Hill, SP, Chesapeake probably combined will total what 5 wins and that's against each other. 2021-3 out of 8 teams were above .500 for the OVC, 2021 SOC1- 3 out of 6 were above .500 and in SOCII play 3 out of 6 teams as well. So, SOC was 50% above .500, OVC 37.5%. I would say judging by that neither conference is beating down the door of being considered elite, each conference every year is going to have 2-3 teams that are head and shoulders above the rest of the conference.

I would love to see these 2 conferences put together 2 or 3 locations and have the old-style jamboree night for scrimmages where 2 or 3 games are played. Playing at let's say Ironton, Waverly or Valley and get Spartan stadium back into it touch all the corners and make travel relatively easy.

I think the SOC has been more superior and it will continue to show dominance after this season, But the OVC will be better this season with The “Tri-State” Tigers leading the way.

Mr Perfect. Seems like a lot of jealously to me. To my knowledge no rules have been broken. Kids can go play where they have a better chance of moving to the next level. Surrounding schools need to up there program and keep their kids at home.

If any school in the SOC was able to attract kids like Itown,
They would do it and also would be as good as Itown, I mean Burg knows that it works also. Fact is that Itown is centrally located to be able to do it and more importantly have a coach that players want to be coached by and offer a good look to play at the next level. I’m not hating because I actually support it! If you feel that you can be better, be coached better and possibly win state titles…Why not? Loyalty to a particular school is a thing of the past.
