Biggest STEAL in NFL Draft?
Who was someone in the draft that dropped to the bottom/lower rounds and was a steal?
Tom Brady is an obvious one, taken in the 6th round and Joe Montana in the third, and one I didn't know, Bo Jackson in the 7th, wow. So who has been one of the greatest steals?

I think Bo was drafted by another team the year before and he didnt want to go play for them so he sat the year out (went and played baseball i think) and re-enter into the draft the next year....Bradshaw for the NY Giants is a steal IMO hes put up some good numbers

Anthony Munoz - One of the top lineman in the nfl. He was a high risk because of multiple knee operations. He only played one game his senior year at southern cal.

Urlacher was a first round draft pick, like 10th overall out of New Mexico..

Three skill position players who haven't been mentioned yet:
Terrell Davis, Denver Broncos
Round 6, Pick 196 in 2005 out of Georgia
If T.D. would have been healthy enough to play longer, he'd have been the all-time biggest steal.
Bart Starr, Green Bay Packers
Round 17 in 1956 out of Alabama
T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Cincinnati Bengals
Round 7, Pick 204 in 2001 out of Oregon State
Terrell Davis, Denver Broncos

Re: Biggest STEAL in NFL Draft?
Yea I agree that Terrell Davis was a steal, but if you put me behind that Broncos O-line with that zone blocking scheme I could have got 1,000 yards. The Broncos could plug anybody back there and they would get production, guys like Mike Anderson a 7th rounder out of Utah had l,500 yds and like 15 TD's his rookie season. Olandis Gary, who was also out of Georgia and a late pick had like 1,200. I believe it was more of there schem thatn anything. Not knocking Terrelle Davis, cause when he was healthy, I loved to watch him run the ball.

We actually had a similar discussion at work today. Throw Derek Loville (in the playoff games when TD was hurt), Ruben Droughns, Clinton Portis and even Tatum Bell into the success in Denver discussion.bigtimehitter wrote:Yea I agree that Terrell Davis was a steal, but if you put me behind that Broncos O-line with that zone blocking scheme I could have got 1,000 yards. Yea Ia actually forgot about Droughns, and I didn't list Portis cause he's actually had success outside of Denver.

Johnny Unitas-undrafted out of Louisville by the Pittsburgh Steelers. Dropped from roster and signed off sandlot team by the Baltimore Colts. History, my friends!
