Bengals draft?
Dont see a thread on this so i will start it up i myself believe they did good. Yes they need a running back but why not give the 1's we have a chance and that dont work. take lattimore next year..
rd 1 pick 17. dre kirkpatrick filled a big need with the first pick.
rd 1 pick 27. kevin zeitler another need they had to fill that they did.
rd 2 pick 53 devon still a big dt couldnt go wrong with this pick.
rd 3 pick 83. mahamed sanu. WR was a need and this may be 1 of the big steals of the draft.
rd 3 pick 93. brandon thompson. Yet another decent pick cant really go wrong here.
rd 4 pick 116. orson charles. a nice te to line up with gresham.
rd 5 pick 156. shaun prater more depth to the db's.
rd 5 pick 166. marvin jones. another good wr who can maybe contribute right off.
rd 5 pick 167. george lloka even more depth at db's,
rd 6 pick 191. boom herron. i like the pick myself osu lol

Hensley's slant: Count me among those who think the Bengals had one of the strongest drafts in the NFL because they got six quality players in the first four rounds. Dre Kirkpatrick is the best zone cover corner in this draft, and guard Kevin Zeitler and defensive tackle Devon Still are top-three players at their positions. I would've given the Bengals a slightly lower grade, perhaps B-plus, for a couple of reasons. They waited until the third round to address wide receiver, which was their most pressing need. Cincinnati could've taken Baylor's Kendall Wright or Georgia Tech's Stephen Hill in the first round. And while Zeitler will be an impact player, the Bengals passed on one of the best guard prospects in decades (David DeCastro) for an extra third-round pick, which Cincinnati used on another defensive tackle (Clemson's Brandon Thompson). Overall, this is the second great draft in a row for Marvin Lewis and the Bengals.
Re: Bengals draft?
The 2012 NFL Draft got covered like a presidential election and if it had been the Bengals would have been one of the winners in a landslide with the orange and black states stretching from Dre Kirkpatrick's Alabama to Dan Herron's swing state of Ohio.
CBSSports.com and The Sporting News gave the Bengals an A-plus. NFL Network gave them an A. ESPN said they had as good a draft as anybody, Pro Football Weekly said two teams that stood out were the Bengals and Rams, and Sports Illustrated said the five potential starters in the first three rounds made it "elite."
Pete Prisco of CBS called it the NFL's best draft with Cincinnati's best pick first-round guard Kevin Zeitler and the hidden gem fifth-rounder Marvin Jones, the speedy Cal receiver. "What's not to like?" Prisco asked. "The list of 10 is impressive. They acted like they owned the draft. Heck, they did."
Put it on top of the last two drafts that have yielded an NFL-leading four Pro Bowlers and the perception that the Bengals can't draft is eroding. People are having a hard time trying to explain the difference in perception since Bengals president Mike Brown is still running it, the personnel department has been virtually unchanged since Marvin Lewis became head coach in 2003, and the coaches are still more involved in it than many teams.
But people are still prefacing their comments this year with "Give Mike Brown credit ... ."

Re: Bengals draft?
Back to back great drafts! If cinci can hold onto these guys and Marvin doesn't screw it up, this team will be in the AFC Championship game in a year or 2....

Re: Bengals draft?
Well at least there is hope for one team in Ohio. Never thought it would happen as long as Mike Brown was in charge
Re: Bengals draft?
I think the Bengals drafted well for depth and need. The DB over WR was a great choice because if you can not stop the other team it makes it very hard to win games. A great defense will take the pressure off an offense. They were still able to pick up a 2 good WR's later.
The Bengals need to keep people healthy and out of trouble and they will able to put together a playoff team.
