Monday night football
Monday night football
Who watched the game last night. My opinion was the replacement refs were paid off by Alanta. I never seen so many bad calls against a team like they did last night.

Re: Monday night football
There were some pretty bad calls/no calls last night!
The NFL hs gotten worse since Goodell has taken over as Comish........Settle this stuff with the Refs and get them back on the field.

Re: Monday night football
the regular refs will get to enjoy being back working for about a week, then everyone will be right back on their backs. but I have to agree, some of the calls no calls are flat crazy.

Not sad they lost, but they for sure got screwed! These Refs are a joke.OZZIEOHIO wrote:DID Greenbay get screwed or what? Thats 2 weeks in a row the refs blew it
Re: Monday night football
Should have been offensive interference before they went up for the ball on the player they said caught the ball. Clearly he pushes the Green Bay guy about five feet before going up for the ball.
Re: Monday night football
The call happened and now it is what the NFL Owners are going to do. ESPN had an ex-ref last night explain the call right away. Fox tv has that.
Chris Carter talked this morning not just that big call but all the extra stuff going on during the game. That directly effects the players safety. The players are doing more and more each week. It will only get worse.
My opinion something is going to happen and a big blow up will happen. Where one player starts a fight that erupts into an all out brawl. Involving many players. Many who are frustrated about how things have been called during the game and past games. Then if like last night that happened in Green Bay with the same outcome with the Seahawks winning. What would the fan's do? Could get ugly very quick.

Re: Monday night football
Not a fan of either team but Green Bay got robbed. The offensive shove was blatant and then it was very clear it was an interception - no ifs ands or buts about it. And how in the world do they call pass interference on Green Bay on the drive before that one? It's bad when the announcers are calling it out! The NFL should "strike" that game last night and get the real refs back to work PATHETIC!
Re: Monday night football
There is a rule in the books that says the nfl commissioner can over turn that call, If he wanted too. Will He, I dont think so.
Re: Monday night football
Must have been a good call by the replacement refs because today the NFL upheld it LOL
Re: Monday night football
If it weren't for ESPN running this play continuously, would we even care? Nope.
The NFL upheld the call. Game over.
ESPN needs to get over themselves and stop trying to create the news or have some effect on the negotiations between the NFL owners and the refs. If ESPN doesn't like the product that the NFL is putting out each week, then ESPN needs to stop agreeing to broadcast the games and having hours of meaningless programming dedicated to covering the NFL games.
In my honest opinion, the call (touchdown) was wrong but there wasn't any video evidence that would clearly overturn the call. And, you can't call a penalty based on replay. The receiver did push off but pass interference has been missed both ways for years.
What I don't like is the bullying of the refs by the coaches to the point of coming on to the field of play AND touching the refs. The players are also guilty of crossing the line. The refs have lost control of the games and the owners are to blame because for this.
Is it just me or has the NFL slipped greatly since Roger Goddell to over as commish?

Re: Monday night football
The NFL could have changed and ruled the Packers to win. Then that would change all the betting on NFL games from now on. Everyone is pushing the refs because the have a lot to lose. With some players/coaches who's jobs are on the line. So it goes back to the street ball rules it is not wrong unless it is called. People are questioning the intergrity of the Shield more and more. When the NFL cracks down on a player or coach severely then things will change. But that change will also work against them for having the poor refs in the first place.
As for the NFL slipping since Roger Goddell has become commish. First he did clean up with a much stricter player policy. Which was needed. Then it just went to his head that he could/would do whatever he want's. Like the Saint's mess. With Goddell being the person you appeal his decision.

Re: Monday night football
Why didn't Green Bay run around for a few seconds before they was to punt and take a safety? Then they would have either punted or kicked from the 20 which could have put Seattle back around their own 20/30 and not inside Green Bays 50. I know a lot of ifs could have happened but the IF happened the way they did it. I like the odds with less time and more field.
Seattle would have only had to kick a field goal for overtime. If the game went the same way it would have been too far.

The NFL doesn't care what pissant fans want. You must watch what we provide and YOU WILL LIKE IT. Four worthless preseason games each season prove this fact.
Re: Monday night football
Hey dazed I wonder if this were the browns that got robbed on a Sunday afternoon 1pm game if we be still hearing about it in the national news,I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT! The only thing I saw wrong was the pass interference before the ball got there but the regular refs miss these kind of calls all the time, but since it was the scab refs its a big problem,The biggest problem is when they go to replays and still don't get it right, don't know if they could have reversed the play on a interference call but if they could they dropped the ball again, looked like the GB player had the ball in the air but on the ground it was a Seahawk who had it,so either team would have been griping no matter what they called.Green Bay would have the bigger beef though because of the non pass interference call.I stand corrected I looked at it again and it does look like the GB player has it even on the ground but I still don't why they couldn't get it right on the replay,is that replacement refs also in charge of the replay booth? I'm not sure how that works if not there is bigger problem than the refs on the field.
Re: Monday night football
Don't forget about the roughing the passer that even shocked the quarterback that took away an interception. I don't care about either team but I do miss the integrity of the game. Just seen on ESPN that the ref that called the final touchdown only has HS and Junior College experience. Coincidentally, I believe he was the one that called defensive pass interference on 3 and 38.smurray wrote:Not a fan of either team but Green Bay got robbed. Wasn't the ref that reviewed the play from that girls league?Tower wrote:Don't forget about the roughing the passer that even shocked the quarterback that took away an interception.
