2010-2011 NBA Finals
Re: 2010-2011 NBA Finals
I think it will be hard for the Heat to acquire any major pieces after their performance in the finals. Why would a player want to go there and be treated like they weren't part of the team with no guarantee of a championship?

You are right I shouldn't, Barry won a championship with no help and had better stats. So really LeBron doesn't even begin to compare to Rick Barry.

Re: 2010-2011 NBA Finals
If we are going to base everything off championships then I guess Michael Jordan is 5 away from being the greatest of all time since Bill Russell won 11, yet all I hear is Michael Michael Michael Michael. I hate comparing players by their championships because championships are won by great teams, not individuals. Dirk led the way for the Mavs, but if it had not been for players like Jason Terry, JJ Barea, Jason Kidd, Tyson Chandler, and Shawn Marion, they wouldn't have won. There has NEVER been a bad team in the history of the NBA win a championship that has won with 1 great player alone.
Re: 2010-2011 NBA Finals
Barry-30.6 points per game regular season 28.2 points per game playoffs
LeBron-26.7 points per game regular season 23.7 points per game playoffs
I am basing it off of more then the fact that Barry won a championship and LeBron didn't. Barry had better stats and he did win a championship without another superstar. LeBron is the one who said he couldn't win a championship by himself. That is why he left Cleveland.

If LeBron supporters are going to continue to base their "Greatest Player Ever in The NBA" case solely on regular season stats, than yeah — rings will absolutely be brought into the equation. And anything else that doesn't set him apart from the field, for that matter.
It's an insult to the NBA for anyone to think that after eight ringless years in the league that you have a very strong case for the best-ever crown. That's like saying you are the best high school team in the state after winning a sectional title.
If D-Wade (Dusty Bottoms), LeBron (Lucky Day) and Bosh (Ned Neiderlander) ever figure out a way to beat El Guapo (played by Dirk this year), then the Three Amigos will still get questions about the legacy of their title — or titles.
Since he took his talents to North Cuba anyways, I figured it would be okay to include some comedy and espanol in referencing El Heat.
Comprende?

What were Barry's assists, rebounds, blocks, and steals like compared to LeBron's? How many triple doubles did he ever have? What teams did the Warriors have to beat to reach the Finals and what team did they beat to win the Finals? Who was the Warriors coach?Charge wrote:Barry-30.6 points per game regular season 28.2 points per game playoffs

Re: 2010-2011 NBA Finals
The Warriors made the playoffs from 1971 to 1977 (except 1974), and won their only championship on the West Coast in 1974–75. In what many consider the biggest upset in the history of the NBA, the Warriors defeated the heavily favored Washington Bullets in a four-game sweep. That team was coached by former Warrior Al Attles, and led on the court by Rick Barry, Jamaal Wilkes and Phil Smith. So little was felt of the team's chances in the playoffs, even by their home fans, that the Coliseum Arena scheduled other events during the dates of the NBA playoffs. As a result, the Warriors did not play their championship series playoff games in Oakland; rather, they played at the Cow Palace in Daly City.

You probably need to examine the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks and reevaluate your position there rebels.

Ok I was wrong about the 70-71 team, but wasnt Oscar on that team? Its not like he did it by himself. Every year after that they fell short in the playoffs. So he went to the Lakers with Magic and Worthy and thats when things got real when he had to other superstars beside him. Sound like a present day team (MIAMI HEAT). But people act like when LBJ, Bosh, and Wade teamed up together that it was like that was the first time it was ever done. Teams like the Lakers with Jabbar, Magic ,Worthy and you cant forget Byron Scott was on the team, also Kobe, Shaq, Fisher. The Bulls with Jordan, Pippen, Rodman, The Cetics with Ainge, Bird ,Mchale, Parish ,Walton, also Pierce, Allan, Garnett. So the MIA Heat are not the first team to stack up to win a ring.
