What exactly are they named for?? Originally I heard they were named for Blue Jacket the Indian Chief.Now they are playing on this civil war thing?? Oh well...

They were named for Blue Jacket the Indian Chef. Somewhere along the line somebody must have complained. When I was up there last month for their game vs the Pens, they had guys dressed in Civil War outfits ready to fire the cannon.

Pens vs Rangers starts Friday night in the 'Burgh.

Pens have won all 4 playoff series vs the Rangers with a 16-4 record.

Season series was 2-2 with the Rangers outscoring the Pens 14-13 (13-12 in non shootout goals).

Look for this series to be a very tough 7 games.

Pens as a whole team need to step up and start playing like the pre-season favorites they were.

Rangers 3 Pens 2 F/OT Game 1

Pens looked awful in the first period as the Rangers get a 2-0 lead but they rebound in the 2nd to tie it.

Scoreless 3rd leads to OT.

Rangers get the game winner 3 minutes in to lead the series 1-0.

Pens need to improve the defense and Crosby and Malkin need to get untracked.

Game 2 on Sunday in the 'Burgh.

5th game in 7 days for the Rangers. Pens outhit and out everything the Rangers last night but they will be pumped playing at home. If we can weather a early offensive salvo from the Rangers and then put some heat into a hot kitchen on their goalie Lundqvist, then maybe we can break them down.

These 2 teams just don't like each other, so the deeper we go into the series, the more interesting it could become.

Rangers come out firing the puck but Fleury and the Pens defense are up to the task.

Fleury gets back to back shutouts on back to back nights as he stops all 35 shots and hasn't allowed a goal in 120 minutes.

Crosby goes five hole to get his first goal of the post season and Jokinen gets his 5th as the Pens only take 15 shots for the game.

We are playing some good hockey right now.
