Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
Lamar Woodley should worry about his team and not the Pats and Bengals...They had there chances against the Bengals and lost twice.Maybe if they didnt lose to the Chiefs,Raiders,Browns, and Bears he wouldn't have to make excuses! Nobody else put the Steelers in this situation. It was them..there 8-7. So stop crying Woodley!! Your embarassing yourself and your team and city. You better quit worrying about other teams and take care of buisness against Miami or it wont matter anyway!

Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. - Even as the players headed to the bus to take them to The Meadowlands for Sunday night’s game, they weren’t sure how Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis was going to play the regular-season finale against the Jets.
“What’s going on?†asked one starter and when the answer was a shrug, he shrugged back.
Head coach Marvin Lewis tipped his hand with the inactive list when he sat starting running back Cedric Benson and started rookie Bernard Scott. Also out are three defensive starters, tackle Domata Peko, left end Robert Geathers and safety Chris Crocker and one offensive starter, tight end J.P. Foschi.
So it would appear that Lewis doesn’t covet the AFC’s third seed as much as he does getting his team healthy and rested for next weekend’s Wild Card Game at Paul Brown Stadium. But he is starting Carson Palmer at quarterback as well as the other starters that aren't dinged. But Benson has shown no signs of his sore hip flexor that knocked him out of two games in November. And he carried the ball 29 times for 133 yards in the AFC North-clinching win over the Chiefs last week and didn't miss a day of practice in the next three days of work.

Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
Was that the most pathetic first half of football in the history of the league, or what???
Palmer was 1/11 for ZERO YARDS and an INT!!!
I think they may have had 3 or 4 yards rushing.
They had 5 possessions in the first half that netted 7 total yards.
1st poss - 1 yard
2nd poss - minus 3 yards
3rd poss - 0 yards
4th poss - 9 yards
5th poss - Int on first play
That has be a record of futility for an NFL game
WOW!!!!
Looks like a one and done for the Bengals in the playoffs.

Burg - Thanks buddy, I couldn't have said it better myself. Well, for the Ben "gals", way to man-up on national TV and make the AFC North a total embarassment. At least the Steelers showed up today and made a game of it. I can't wait to hear the "oh, we were resting for next week" B.S. OKEE DOKEE, let's wait for next week. The Jets show up in the Queen City and hand you your heads to you in your hat, then what?
What an absolutely pathetic showing tonight. NFL now has major, and I mean MAJOR, PR work to do, after delivering an incredibly substandard product the last two weeks between the Saints, Colts, Eagles, and now the Bungles. If I were a season ticket holder for any one of these squads, I'd be seeking legal action against the owners for turning out a substandard product for the price that has been charged!!!!!!!!!

Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
If it wasn't for the Cavs, Ohio wouldn't have a pro team worth watching.
Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
This game was more like the last High School Football preview, scrimmage, jamboree where one team does not want to show anything. All the do is some up and go thur the motions.
This year has gotten a lot of talk about sitting players out of games. It is hard to get a TEAM who relies on every player with the mentality of playing together as a team. When players do not know if they will play or not or when players may sit out would be tough. It also effects the coaches who may not be as sharp as they need to be in making calls and adjustments.
No matter who was on the field the offense was an embarassment to the NFL. The OC for the Bengals should resign before the playoffs. Palmer should just call his own plays because they do not have another QB to replace him. They need to play the game fully or just forfiet so their fans will not be forced to watch players wearing Bengals uniforms run on the field and run off without actually playing the game hard to WIN. Just like Herm Edwards said That you play the game to win.

Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
It'll be a different game in Cincy, but in the end, the Bengals will be watching the AFC Championship on TV with the rest of us. But hey, you guys won a division championship so congrats for that. I just don't know where Cincinnati grows and gets much better in the next few years. They are mostly a known quantity. Benson doesn't do much to excite me going forward. Henry is gone. And Ocho will lose a few steps in the next couple of years.
Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
I am sure the NFL liked their decision to move this competitive game to prime time.
Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
I am not sure how Cincinnati is going to move the ball on the Jets....That defense is pretty good and Revis is the best Corner in the game!
Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
Cincy's going to have to win in the trenches.
IMO if Cincy wins, it'll be a low-scoring game.
Some snow would help.

Re: Bengals at Jets, final week
Some of this stuff is hilarious...I do agree the Bengals looked pathedic Sunday but some of u act like this team just backed into the Playoffs...I guess everyone forgets they SWEPT the AFC North(6-0),was in every game with the exception of Minnesota and that debacle against the Jets. They have proved they are a legitimate team. They have quality wins over Baltimore(2),Pittsburgh(2), and Green Bay.They also went to San Diego which is imo the best team in the AFC and were in a great position to win the game before a costly fumble and a bad defensive play in the last minute that cost them the game. This team has a good defense and can run the ball very well...That is playoff football,we also have a guy named Palmer! Palmer is still one of the elite QB's in the league,I know his numbers are down this season but he is very unselfish and will do whatever it takes to win,if that means running the ball 40 times,so be it.I also think Palmer has beeen waiting for this oppurtunity since 2005 when he could do nothing but watch from the locker room after blowing his knee out in his only playoff apperance ever.Paul Brown Stadium will be rocking Saturday and I think Cincy will feed off that energy and play well.I expect a close game with the Bengals coming out on top..they need to pressure Sanchez and force him into mistakes..I bet Zimmer will Blitz 70% of the downs.Injury reports says Chad,Peko,Crocker and Rivers will all be ready come Saturday. On offense Caldwell or Coles must step up as Revis who I think is the best CB in the NFL will be covering Chad.Hopefully Coles will be fired up to face his ex-teammates in this big Playoff matchup. My predictionis Bengals 17 Jets 9.Welcome to the jungle...Its playoff football!! I Love It!!

I agree with most of it - especially the part about defense and running the football.

Another putrid, embarrassing showing by Cincinnati. I like Marvin Lewis as a Coach, and hate the Brown family as owners of a NFL franchise, but geesh, hard to like anything about any of them after yesterday's embarrassment..........
