McNabb's numbers are awful, why do you think the Eagles gave him the boot. He is done. I don't blame Shanahan for getting rid of him and Hanesworth. Snyder needs to let Shanahan coach and quit interfering, he is like Jerry Jones.

Not sure that McNabb's struggles are a sign that he's done. I've watched a couple of their games and the wr's were dropping passes and several of his int's are the result of tipped passes by these same wr's. The Redskins passing game is too predictable. Average wr's running sloppy routes..... Rex the Hex is a joke. Chicago won in spite of him not because of him.

I think we are finding out just how "GREAT" of a coach Shanahan is. Lets face it it he got 2 superbowl rings because of a couple guys names Elway and Davis throw in Sharpe and all he had to do was show up. He won't make it through next season before he gets canned. I'm glad he finally has been exposed.

McNabb is not good anymore.
The eagles knew it, and didn't have a problem trading within the division.

The Redskins have now found out, and know that McNabb will be cut before he is due the roster bonus of 10 million.

Instead of stubbornly keeping him as the starter, they are finding out if either of their other options are worth a nod, while the bullets are live and they are playing meaningful football.

There us nothing wrong with what Shannahan is doing.
Just business baby!

Dubs you say nothing is wrong with Shanahan it is just business. If it is just business he is doing a terrible job at managing the business. McNabb may not be what he once was but he is the best the Redskins have. Playing Grossman does not help the team since he will never be the fulltime starter. Also if you make the change during the week you want to get Grossman as many snaps as possible with the first string. Which did not happen because Shanahan told McNabb after practice on Thursday. Just like the excuses he used when he benched McNabb before. Not very well thought out.

To me Shanahan has not done as well since Elway. Like what Orange and Brown said. He had talent in Denver but that team had made it close with Dan Reeves as the coach. Shanahan took over to be the coach as they won the Super Bowl. Many people were saying that Shanahan was done in Denver years before he was fired there. He took over the Redskins that had a good defense and they are not very good now. The offense has no running game or good receivers to throw to. The offensive line is not very good. It does not matter who the QB is with the players they have. They do not throw the screens and short passes that McNabb had done in Philly. The offense did not match up with McNabb's skills and Shanahan does not change to match his QB's. One of the reasons why he has gone thur many QB's since Elway.

The bigger problem with the Redskins is the "other Shanahan", Kyle. He has no idea what he is doing, but nepotism rules. I don't care what argument you throw out at this statement, it is fact. How many times have they mismanaged the clock because this dolt couldn't get a play call in to give McNabb time to get the team set to snap the ball, much less get to the line of scrimmage and make any adjustments.

Watching the Skins as much as I have this year, it has just been nothing but sheer punishment, no matter how you slice it. I agree with O&B - the Shanahans won't make it past week 10 of next year's season. And Snyder is the Mark Cuban of the NFL. But at least Cuban knows how to put a winning team out there as his product.......

You are right!! I forgot to pass some of the blame on Kyle, I'm not so sure he even knows what good offense is.

Grossman doesn't provide a better option for the long term, but since they know McNabb isn't a viable option and will be gone, why not give Grossman a look along with Beck, and decide who is going to be kept to be the primary backup next year?

Why wait until the uncertainty of the labor issues next offseason. They need a live look at their talent, and this is the best way to get it.
