Glad the Pens put 7 players on various Olympic teams but I wonder how all the hockey and travel associated with the Olympics and the rest of the NHL schedule will effect them when the playoffs arrive.

Injurt update...

Pens defensman Kris LeTang, who has missed the past several games, has suffered a stroke. The condition is believed to be related to a previously undetected heart defect, a small hole in his heart, that he has had since birth.

The stroke is being treated with blood thinners. While he is expected to make a full recovery and it would appear that his mecical condition is not career ending, he will be out of the lineup for at least 6 weeks and then re-evaluated.

LeTang is a finalist for the Norris Trophy, defenseman of the year.

Hopefully, he will recover to lead a full life with no side effects from his medical condition. In addition, I hope this doesn't end his career as a hockey player. He is only 26. Thoughts and prayers for his full and speedy recovery.
