Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates
This series gives the Reds a great chance to get on a nice winning streak. We need to take care of buisness against the weaker teams this year. Should be a good series and hopefully the Reds can pull out the brooms and get the "sweep".
Re: Cincinnati Reds @ Pittsburgh Pirates
I'd love to see the sweep but I'd be happy with 2 of 3. The Reds haven't lost a series yet, so I hope they keep that going. With Volquez, Arroyo, and Cueto going, and the bats starting to come alive, it could be a great weekend!

I would be thrilled with two wins but, the Reds are capable of a sweep. Arroyo is going to have to start pitching more and less picking on that guitar if the Reds want to have a great season. We really need him to be at his best. Hopefully, he will get out of this funk.

Arroyo better pick up his game or he could fall down the rotation if Cueto and Volquez keep pitching the way they are

Reds lose 1-0 in the first game of the series.
And you can't say there was a lack of offense. The Reds left 12 stranded on the bases. They just couldn't get anyone over the plate!

Tough one to take but, you have to be happy with the pitching if, you are a Reds Fan.

This is not the way I wanted the series to start. The Reds had so many chances to win this game. Baseball is a funny sport. The Reds, the night before against the Brew Crew, scored 12 runs in the winning effort. Last night, they couldn't manage to get ONE run across the plate. But, you will have nights like that I guess and at least the pitchers didn't really blow the game for us. It was just the fact that the Reds didn't capitalize on all of their scoring chances.

I'm just happy that the Reds are doing well right now. I think the starting pitching is pretty good but, the middle relief and set-up, I'm not sure about.

Its a shame when we can beat a playoff contender in the Brewers and even beat the hottest team in baseball, Arizona. But we can't even beat the lowly Pirates????....Wow...some things never change.

The Pirates have played just well enough to win the last two games.
The Reds as you know really need to take this game today.
