did the reds when they got edison volquez who leads the majors in strikeouts with 52 and leads the NL in era at 1.06

or the rangers with josh hamilton who leads the majors with 36 rbi's and is about the only thing to cheer for on that team

I think that the Reds got the better deal in the long run. Volquez is a very talented pitcher and the Reds really needed another good pitcher. He is even more valuable right now because he is the only pitcher winning any games for us. I mean, Arroyo cant even make it out of the first inning. Volquez is really keeping this team from sliding down to far.

Honestly I think Volquez was the better of the two, mainly because Hamilton was just one drug use away from ruining his career.

Thats not right. The guy beat out a cocaine addiction and his drug using days are done. Your post makes no sense at all.

The Reds because they needed pitching and it wins games.....Hamilton is doing great but has to help and him being the only one hitting will not help the Rangers win games

I think the Reds did becasue over the past few years there pitching has been horrible. There offense will pick up and score some runs. Pitching wins games so the Reds got the better deal.

Same here but, the way the Reds have played thus far, with the exception of the past few games, Hamiltons 44 RBI'S wouldn't have made much of a difference in our win/loss record. We really needed the pitching and Volquez has answered the call so far.

The pitching has been the reds achilles heel for years and they have always had more than enough in the outfield so regardless of what hamilton does the reds got young pitching that could help them for years to come and keep them in alot of games.
