Everytime they sent a blitz he panicked. Anderson would have got a touchdown out of one of the three interceptions.

hammerdown wrote:gahs Quinn is a dud. why do you think no one wanted to draft him.the only reason the browns took him was they felt pressured by the fans. Quinn didn't sit the bench forever because he was good.

and it was a darn shame the way Tim Couch was done.

Ah! So that's what it is! We're bashing Quinn because poor ol' UK's finest got done wrong.
Quinn's a dud? Thanks for the laugh, friend. The reason Quinn sat on the sidelines for so long is because Anderson was doing just enough each week to keep his butt off the bench.
It's pretty sad when a Steeler fan has to get on here and take up for a Brown, but this is ridiculous. Take a look at the stats and tell me how Quinn's doing any worse than Anderson so far:

D. Anderson

attempts: 243 Completions: 121 Yards: 1454 Completion%: 49.8 Yards/Attempt: 6.0 TD: 9 INT: 7 Sacks: 11 for 63 yards

B. Quinn

attempts: 71 completions: 37 Yards: 424 Completion%: 52.1 Yards/Attempt: 6.0 TD: 2 INT 0 Sacks: 1 for 9 yards

Quinn looked pretty good, it's the dropped balls and the defense couldn't tackle hammerdown if he was playing.

Dawson bailed them out.

.

OUCH, I wouldnt get it front of him as big as he is.

You people are making a snap judgment on Quinn based on 8 qtrs?

I wasnt saying it based on eight qtrs, I was going on 8 qtrs and 2 years at Notre Dame. What did he do there that was so good? He never won any of the big games he was in.

You've got to let Quinn finish the season now. Do you think DA can come back to the starter's job short of injury now? Sit Winslow ( he needs an MRI on his shoulder) and play with two tight ends. They can help block for the running game and give Quinn a target to dump to if he needs it. Start Harrison at RB. Get Cribbs more involved in the offense. We aren't going to win all or at even most of our games but we need to see what we got. Crennel is a dead man walking IMO. Thanks for playing, please accept this nice parting gift. Now, who is going to give you anything for Edwards? Not what you would expect. At least he can help to stretch the defense. And teach the defense to tackle. One more thing, I don't think Cowher is the answer at coach. He's OK but he needs to coach in another division; it would be too personal. Steve Spagnola sounds good to me.

"We missed a lot of tackles in this game," said defensive-minded Browns coach Romeo Crennel. "I'm not sure how many yet [because of the night game], but it wasn't very good.
"You don't like it," said Crennel. "You like to think that your defense can tackle, because that's one of the foundations of defense."
"It's probably more technique [than fatigue] because we tried to change up by rotating guys a little bit," said Crennel. "The previous two weeks, I thought [fatigue] was it, but evidently I was wrong."

All quotes from Romeo's latest press conference. How much longer are we going to have to put up with this nonsense. Isn't it the coach's responsisbility to make sure the defense can tackle? Shouldn't he (a supposed defensive guru) have a handle on this by now? ROMEO MUST GO!!!!!!!!!!

Add in all the passes that Edwards and Winslow dropped that were easy catches, and several were for wide open TDS. Maybe Quinn was paying them to get Anderson benched.

Romeo's defense is horrible. The tackling is off the chart bad. Romeo has to held responsible, who else?
