I think East is the toughest in the AL and Central in the NL.

Central overall because out of their 6 teams, 4 of them are in the top ten records in the MLB so far this year.

But the season is still too young to say anything yet.

I really think that it is the AL East, top to bottom.

Being a Pirates fan, I would like to say the NL Central, but all these teams do is beat up on each other.

I would like to see fewer divisional games during the season and have every team play one home and home series with the teams in the opposite league.

Imagine, every year you get a chance to go to your favorite teams park and see the Yankees, Red Sox etc if your a NL fan and if you are a AL fan you get the Cubs, Cards, Dodgers etc in your own park. Better gate revenue and TV ratings.

The NBA does it, so can MLB.

I am still going to say the NL Central, looking at the teams, three of them are tied for a winning percentage of .588, which is the third highest winning percentage behind the Dodgers and Blue Jays.

AL East....Jays, Sox, Rays, Yanks...Thats a tough lineup to beat

Currently, in the NL it is the Central, but by seasons end I think it will be the East...

The Central has the Reds, Cubs, Cards, and the Brewers...I dont see the Brewers staying good for long.

The East has the Mets, Phillies, Braves, and Marlins...I see those four continuing to improve throughout the season.

Right now, its the AL East and NL Central.

AL East is the best...NL Central may be the most entertaining.

I agree, that would be awesome! Or at least play one 3 game series vs. every team in the opposite league, and rotate home and away every year.

I don't know if that will happen or not. Will the Red Sox and Yankees be willing to sacrafice some of their 19 games vs. each other each year for something like this? Or the Cubs and Cardinals? etc. etc.

Remember in 1997 when Interleague play started? Some people said that was all taboo, but it turned out to be one of the best things MLB has ever done.

There was even that "radical realignment" proposal back then that would have had all 14 teams in the Eastern Time Zone be in the American League and all 16 teams in the Central, Mountain, and Pacific Time Zones be in the National League.

I think this is what that proposal was like back then:

American League East - Baltimore, Boston, NYY, NYM, Montreal (DC now), Philadelphia, Toronto.

American League South/Midwest (what a name!) - Atlanta, Florida, Tampa, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit.

National League Central - Chicago C, Chicago WS, Milwaukee, Minnesota, St. Louis, Kansas City, Texas, Houston.

National League West - LAA, LAD, SF, SD, Oakland, Seattle, Colorado, Arizona.

That proposed realignment also had each team playing a home and home series against every other team in the opposite league if I remember right. That, or it was a three game series that rotated home and away every year.

I think that it was a balanced schedule too, with one division in each league only playing a few more games vs. its own division than the other division in the league.

I'd propose something less radical. How about dividing the current teams and leagues into an Eastern division and a Western division. Adopt the DH rule as uniform. Teams who win their division get a bye. Seed the rest. Play it off and may the best team win!
