Does the NBA have a written rule book? Just watching the last couple Cavs games it seems like the rules vary from incident to incident and player to player. Dwight Howard can throw punches and elbows yet if Z or Varejao breathes on him from 5 feet away they get called for a foul. Take the last play in regulation tonight Howard tries to put Varejao in a full nelson and no foul is called. Then on OT he is standing behind him as Lebron ties up the ball and Varejao gets called for a foul. Whats up with that?

Howard should have been called for an over-the-back call on the last play in regulation.

You could have got him for a hold as he had Verojao's right arm and pulled him down on the same play.

whats funny is the announcers were kind of insinuating that it might be a foul on verajao(sp) at the end of regulation when in fact it was howard who was causing all the contact. you would think with nba wanting a lebron/kobe matchup in the finals that the calls would start going the cavs way. stick a fork in em, the cavs are done. go out and get a real point guard so lebron can wander around and create havoc.

I agree.

There is in my mind asbsolutely no dobt that the cavs are done. I think that Lebron is way ovrrated, I think that he is a showboat that loves to show is marshmellow muscles when he he slams an uncontested runaway dunks, but cries for 20 minutes like a "female dog" when he is fouled while driving through the lane for a basket. Bottom line is he is a prima donna cry-baby who wants all the spotlight. And this is coming from someone who roots for all the Buckeye teams, but I'm also not afraid not to face the facts

Have you noticed during this year's playoffs that none of the announcers are comparing either Kobe or Lebron to Michael Jordan? The last couple of playoff seasons, it was Kobe is the next Mike, Lebron is the next Mike.
I hate to sound like an old fart, but, in my opinion, neither one of these kids could carry Mike's jock.
And there's waaaaaay too much whining from both Kobe and Lebron as well as a Dwight Howard.

You want the officials to call OVER THE BACK on Andy Varajeo? For what?! In order to for a foul to be called that late, it better have prevented a shot. Would Andy caught it and hit a 92 footer with .5 seconds left? No. Therefore, at that point, no foul.

Second of all, you complain of the officials, but yet LeBron has benefited from phantom calls all series, especially late in the game (Pietrus block call).

The reason the Cavs lost is simple: LeBron has noone around him and he had 7 TOs after halftime.

At this early age I think James is better than Jordan

Who watches the NBA anyway? It is nothing but a bunch of prima donna crybabies and wannabe rapper thugs. Any more, real basketball is done being played at the high school level.

I think the NBA has improved immensely the last few years. They actually play defense now.

the cry baby part is true for some with kobe at the top of that list. college bball is the best to watch for the most part.

you dont watch pro bball very much then if you think that. just because the nba wants you to think that lebron and kobe are alike doesnt mean they are. kobe is the ultimate whiner, he cant right now because he's two technicals away from being suspended for 1 game. watch lebron when a foul is called, he usually just throws the ball to the refs and doesnt say anything or the other night he actually helped a guy up off the floor that he had fouled which you never see. two totally different personalities.


do you know why they are overpaid? i agree, they are overpaid but people pay the premium price to see them play. dont hate the player, hate the game/business for what it has become.

From the NBA's Rulebook:

When there are fewer than 5.0 left on the clock, a foul shall be called only in cases of sodomy and murder.
