AP story from Yahoo!Sports ...

MIAMI (AP)—Former NFL and Miami Hurricanes star quarterback Bernie Kosar has filed for bankruptcy protection in Miami.

Kosar’s Chapter 11 filing Friday lists assets between $1 million and $10 million and liabilities of between $10 million and $50 million.

Kosar owes almost $1.5 million in “unsecured debt” to the Cleveland Browns, who he played for from 1985 to 1993. Kosar also owes his ex-wife Babette $3 million and $725,000 (from a personal loan) to the owner of the Cleveland Gladiators of the Arena Football League. He owes a bank more than $9 million for bad real estate deals.

The 45-year-old Kosar got divorced in 2007 and last year saw his steakhouse go out of business.

Kosar, who also played for Dallas and Miami, retired from the NFL in 1996.

Could be worse-the late Michael Jackson owes $400 million! Seriously, how do you get THAT far in debt? Who was stupid enough to lend him that kind of money?

His stats were not that great. He was flat footed. One time he came close, But you said close only counts in horse shoes. So it dont count. Got his ring riding the pine. Not a hof. And hes broke. Those degrees did real well.

As you said close dont count. He came close once. Boomers stats were higher than joes going into superbowl.
I have the paper. Bernie was never as good as boomer. Just making the playoffs than getting beat is not close. Boomer about doubled his reg season passing. Boomer was a pro bowl qb. One of the best. And I remember mack. He got arrested selling drugs to kids.

Being flat footed ment he couldnt run . Held him back as a qb. Needed a calender to time him in the 40.

gahs4ever wrote:Boomer Schmoomer...put Bernie behind those great Bengal O-lines and see what he would have done. Put Boomer behind the porous Browns O-lines of the late 80s and you would never have heard of Boomer.

You keep saying Bernie came close as if you are unaware that one man cannot win or lose any game. Takes 53 where I grew up.

How many Bengals are in the HOF? Dont strain your brain with such big numbers....I'll give you a clue. ONE!

BTW...your immobility argument is lost on traditional drop back NFL passers like Unitas, Namath, Montana, Tittle, Jurgenson, etc all of whom are in the HOF.

Duh, They have had a team twice as long as bengals. And when there is only 8 teams , not much to pick from .
Do the math. If a team has been around for a 100 years and the other 50 . I guess you would have more than the other. Its not that there better, just been around longer.

gahs4ever wrote:This wont settle anything because you have your kitty cat blinders on and dont want to talk truth, but here are the career totals for both Boomer and Bernie. I would note that Bernie has a slightly higher completion percentage and QB rating while enjoying a MUCH lower INT ratio. I would also remind you that while Bernies stats are seemingly dwarfed by Boomers, you should note that Boomer played in 61 more games for a pass first offense so it stands to reason that he SHOULD have better yardage and TD numbers.

NAME...........G............C/A....................YDS...............PCT..........TD.......INT.......QB RATING

BOOMER.....187.......2969/5205.......37,920..............570.........247......184.............81.1

BERNIE......126.......1994/3365.......23,301..............593.........124........87.............81.8

Even in the Browns run first offense under Schottenheimer, Boomer played in a third more games than Bernie. If you add a third more stats had Bernie played those 61 more games you would have numbers similar to Boomers. Pro rated out it would be approximately 3050/5000 for 35,000 yds and 185 TD with only 130 INT.

Which QB won more games? Which played in more playoff games? Which played in 4 Div championship games? Which has a Super Bowl ring? Which was EVER NFL MVP?

Duh, when you have about half the passes you will throw less ints, duh
Your stats are not the same i found.

BOOMER:

BERNIE:

And your math skills are really lacking. Bernie played in a third less games than Boomer. Add a third more INTs to Bernies stats and you still only have about 125

Boomer also played for the jets and cards .duh which stats do you want just with cinci or life time ????????
