The Pirates put the best talent on the field that very little money can buy. I think their payroll is now, since the great purge of '09, the lowest in baseball.
I will give them credit, they are trying to build it from the ground-up. They are lucky that they have the Steelers and Penguins to occupy the attention of the Burgh fans while they do it and a beautiful place like PNC Park.
Don't forget those great bobblehead giveaways.
