well the rest of the north is on the bottom looking up. I would rather win the divison than go to pro bowl. But if that is what some want, so be it. Bengals really dont have many stand outs. Benson would be on top ,but was hurt for 2 weeks and fell behind. They have been more of a team effort. It got them where they need to be. The ball control offense , will lower qb stats and receivers. Palmer new this and accepted it at begaininng of season.
C-ya in the playoffs
But on defense, hall and joesph are the 2 best corners in the nfl.

I have to agree with you on the team effort,,,,like you said Benson could have been if not hurt for 2 weeks,,,,and I agree with Hall and Johnson,,but anyway I am sure Marvin will use this as a no respect rally cry to get the team ready for the playoffs.

The Pro Bowl is stupid. There isn't even a point to playing the game. The last Pro Bowl I watched was like 15 years ago. Who really wants to go sit around and sign pictures and crap when you could be on vacation with your family. You see more and more players getting "injured" during Pro Bowl week!

Don't get me wrong, I love my Cincinnati Bengals, and I agree JJ and Leon have had a great year, but Darrelle Revis is probably the best corner in the game right now. One of our corners should have gotten the nod over Champ Bailey though. I easily agree that we have the best 1-2 punch at corner in the NFL.
All in all I'm not too worried about not having anyone in the Pro Bowl. If we find a way to put it together and make a playoff run it will be a moot point for us anyway.

For the Browns, we have three Pro Bowlers when I wasnt sure we would have even one. My LT Joe Thomas jersey is looking better to me all the time. Usually when I get a Browns jersey it is the kiss of death that they wont be with the Browns for long.
The Browns aren't very good as a team, but they have some really good players.

Sports Illustrated's Don Banks points out that one Bengals player deserved to be in the Pro Bowl. No, not Cedric Benson -- though if you look at the numbers, he was kind of a stretch as it was. No, not Leon Hall. Or Johnathan Joseph. Banks writes:
If I were NFL commissioner for a day, I know who would get the nod from me: Cincinnati middle linebacker Dhani Jones, one of pivotal cogs in the success of the playoff-bound Bengals.
That's right. Our air guitar playin' middle linebacker, Dhani. The same Dhani who has his own show. The same Dhani who has his own Febreeze commercial. And I couldn't agree more. Banks continues.
But he's one of the most indispensable Bengals this season, and his rock-solid play in the middle of a Cincinnati defense that ranks second against the rush (87.7), fourth in total yards (300.1), and fifth in points allowed (16.9) has not been overlooked by those within the league who know defensive football. Though he leads the Bengals in tackles for a second year with 106 through 15 games, Jones doesn't have the type of gaudy personal stats that attract Pro Bowl votes. But know this: His 3½ sacks, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble and five passes defensed tell only a fraction of the story.
Again, couldn't agree more. In fact, Dhani is the least talked about starter on defense but he's the most consistent and has step-for-step taken on more than just being a linebacker. He's a leader on defense that improved from 27th in 2007 to fourth in 2009. Banks quotes Zimmer.
"He's as smart a guy as I've ever had playing in the middle for me. He asks

You would get them, even if you won the super bowl.

The North is the 2nd-toughest division in the AFC, next to the South although the East has finished strong.

They COULD have won the East just as easily and probably the West, too.
Depends on if you're talking about the Bengals of the first part of the season or the Bungals of the second part.

Indy, SD, and NE are all better than the Bengals, as the playoffs will show. Thus if the Bengals had been in any other division they would have been playing for a wild card at best.
Pittsburgh is just a shell of their former selves, and the Browns are among the worst teams in the NFL. Only Baltimore offers any competition and in fact they have outscored the Bengals this year while allowing fewer points which might not portend wll for the Bengals at playoff time either.
Im juss sayin
Bengals won divison, steelers and ravens in hunt for play offs. Yea thats a weak divison. Just because the browns are in the divison doesnt make it weak.

New England is a better team IMO and if the game is played in Foxboro the Pats are 8-0 there this year.
And we havent even mentioned Indy yet.
Dont forget the Bengals have lost to Oakland, San Diego, Denver, and Houston this year. The playoffs are a one and done concept. The only reason the Bengals have to be optimistic is their defense and defense wins championships usually.
And that the bengals lost to chargers in the last 3 sec. 27-24. If palmer hadnt thrown that int on his own 25 and gave chargers a free td. That game would have been different. If what you say chargers is best team. Bengals showed they can play with them. any given sunday.

The Bengals have the defense to make it.
Offensively, their play reminds me of the mid-90's Steeler teams that had relatively weak QBs (O'Donnell, Stewart) but made deep playoff runs (Super Bowl '95, AFC Championship '97). Well, you could throw in one of the Tommy Maddox-led teams from this decade too, I guess. These teams had good receiving corps, just inconsistent QB play. But they did have future HOFer Jerome Bettis.
The Bengals have made a committment to the running game and Cedric Benson has become a star and a very important part of the offense. San Diego is a very good team, but Pittsburg beat them - tagged 38 points on 'em. They also have a history of falling apart in the playoffs.
