I hate him, too, but he will get in posthumously (after he dies). He is a pioneer of the TV model that made the modern day NFL. Hate him for the Browns but admire his foresight. No other professional sport comes close to the NFL. Of course, he almost bankrupt the Browns, which is why he left for Baltimore. But he lost control of that franchise. Maybe he should have become commissioner and sold the Browns. I think we fans would've been happier and his legacy would be set.

Can't argue much with what you just said.

Any long-suffering Browns fan aches for the wrongs done this franchise over the years. Truly we fans are among the greatest in the world and I say that with no false sense of modesty. But what happened in the past is history and if we wallow in that misery, we only make ourselves more miserable. I'm more concerned about what is going on with the collective bargaining agreement in progress; more to the point, what the owners are struggling with. We may yet end up hating Jerry Jones more than Art Modell and that is saying something!

Oh, and by the way, if Modell ever does make it to the Hall in my lifetime, I WILL BE IN CANTON FOR THAT CEREMONY. What chaos!

OK, we're pulling for the same team. Calm down. If there is one thing I've learned in life, it is that you don't get do-overs! You can't change what has happened in the past. H3LL, I'm still bitter towards Elway but The Drive still happened and nothing will change that fact. I just want to move on from here. I hope the management team being assembled puts the pieces to the puzzle in place to restore the franchise to prominence. I'm not sure it will but at least I have a team to root for now. And the Browns are the only Cleveland team I have any interest in so the rest of the misery on the lake doesn't affect me in the least. Thank God for some things. :-D

As a bengal fan, I dont like art also. He did screw over cleveland . Ravens came to cinci first and tried to buy them.
Mike brown has his faults, but didnt sell the team. (thanks mike) . But when the browns left, something was missing. How can you have football in cinci without playing the browns. No yelling at each other , I missed that.
Now the bickering will never stop. PRICELESS !!!!!!

Let me see Scott Milanovich over Kurt Warner
That wasn't a good move, but in fairness alot of other franchises missed on that one. Including the Bengals.

For the record, the Browns will REALLY be back in Cleveland when our HOF TE, Ozzie Newsome is directing the front office, but that aint going to happen anymore than our former LB player and Special Teams coach, Bill Cowher will ever coach the Browns, but it would be a fitting reunion and SWEEEEEEEET!

I have great reverence for you, sir. I have seen and suffered a lot of Browns football over the years but I defer to you. You have first-hand experience of the original sin (firing Paul Brown). I'm convinced the football gods have never forgiven the franchise. Like trading Babe Ruth or denying the goat in Chicago, it has stained our fandom lives. But eventually, we will see success. I am convinced of that. When is anyone's guess.

Lets say they never get to superbowl. You still have that wonderful bengal wife. You are blessed. You can go to those cold rainny playoffs with her. Just got to look at the bright side. :-D

I haved moved beyond the QBs on our roster. We MUST upgrade that position before we make the next step. All other questions are moot. And I don't think we can draft a rookie and wait for him to develop, especially not this year's crop. So, who is available in free agency that can fill the bill? I still say look to Green Bay and their back-up, Matt Flynn. He is versed in the kind of offense that Holmgren wants and I think playing behind and learning from Rogers will help him like Hasselback learned from Favre. Go get him!

I being the eternal optimist am very excited by the moves in the front office thus far. From a player perspective I believe the bar has been set by Mangini in so far as the attitude that one must have to be a part of this team. I am a firm believer hat attitude is everything and that can overcome superior talent when meshed together with solid game planning. I don't think the best players are needed as much as the right players. I for one think that a lot of pieces for a championship caliber team are already in place all that is needed is experience and growth. Patience is the one element that needs to be introduced. In my opinion we are FINALLY on the right track.

I'm optimistic that these changes are positive but I'm so jaded that I'll take a wait-and-see attitude. I've drank enough Brown Kool-Aid over the years that I have "Brown Sugar Diabetes." Don't know how you can mix regimes and expect it to run harmoniously. Make no mistake; this will be Mike Holmgren's team going forward and if Mangini doesn't like some of the decisions, he will be let go eventually. Anderson and Quinn are psychologically done in Cleveland. We need new players at that position. If we can get the QB from Central Michigan, that might be OK but experience teaches you don't catch lightning in a bottle every time. For every Rothlisberger, there is a Charlie Frye. So draft him but I wouldn't start him right out of the gate. We need DBs. Other than QB, I think that is the biggest crying need on the team. We can get by another year with our basic lines but I would shop Rogers around for whatever we can get. He exited the starting lineup with injuries about the time the team took off.
