This long overdue admission of guilt has been nothing but a PR nightmare for McGwire from my perspective. He refused to answer questions in front of Congress, staunchly denied use of steroids for years, and now he "comes clean".

But in coming clean, he's still not telling the truth, saying he only used to help himself heal when he was injured, blah, blah, blah. You read statements from some of his peers, he was using for years, both in Oakland and St. Louis. What really makes me sick is that he is blaming anyone and everyone for his using steroids, and taking no responsibility for his own actions. Blaming his Dad? For cryin' out loud, that is really lame.

I hope that this pathetic excuse for a professional athlete never gets inducted into the hall of fame. They ought to strip him of all the records that he set as well, and strike any references of him in any exhibit in the professional baseball hall of fame.

He didnt tell us anything we knew already. The other is more lies.

He didn't fess up to congress under oath, because he couldn't get immunity.
He tried to get immunity, and told congressmen behind closed doors, that he had
used steroids and wanted to talk, but not unless he got immunity.
Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, wouldn't give the immunity, so Mark didn't talk UNDER OATH.

This has been backed up by congress men that were there in those closed door meetings.

I can't blame him one bit for not saying anything when he was under oath.

It's not like we didn't already know what he was hiding anyway!

And it's the reason that a sure thing Hall of Famer is only getting 25% of the votes to get into Cooperstown.

I couldnt believe he used either. It kinda broke my heart to hear him say that he did. You can get that big by training and eating right.

Yea you can over that period of time. We arent talking a Bondsesque 175 guy going to 275 of pure muscle over the summer here. If you work out hard enough and eat right you can be that big like Mac was.

Yea he went from about 185 to about 245 in about 2 seconds!!!!

If Barry Bonds hadn't went from 100 pounds up 250 so quick you would have noticed "Big Mac"!
