Question to all Bengal Fans

Post by 2trap_4ever »

Should the Bengals make a play for Brandon Marshall, I know Denver is wanting a first and a third round draft pick for him. The quesiton is would he be worth it for a team that needs an experienced wide out right now.

Yes. If I was Mike and Marvin I would give up my 1st and 3rd rounder for him. He is a game changer, is in the prime of his career and with the leaders in the locker room the team already has he will be held in check. Also, the Bengals have no problem signing/dealing with so called problem guys. Carson Palmer has maybe three solid years left so he needs help now and can't wait the 2-3 years it typically takes young receivers to develop.

Okay here is the next question what would do you think the Bengals would give up if they needed to clear a lot of cap space.

No they should leave him alone. He is going to want a big big contract and Mike Brown won't give it to him so then we will be back to hearing how unhappy Marshal is and how he wants out.

No, absolutely not!!!

On offense they need a WR that can stretch the field, and get the safties to play deeper.
This will make running the ball easier, and make it easier for Chad to get open.
They started to slow down in production when Henry got his arm broken.

They need a quality guy, who can stretch the field and make guys miss in open field situations,
they need a guy who likes Cincy, and wants to be their. They need a guy who can fit into the family
setting they built last season.

They need Mardy Gilliard!!!

They also need a player who is a team player. Marshall has talent but you can not count on him to be there every game. He has also had some off field problems. Has talent but not worth giving up the high draft picks. Denver did not want to extend his contract because of his past trouble and wanted him to prove he can be dependable. Which he didn't show this year.
The Bengals showed they would take a chance on players like Henry after being released and getting Benson. Players need to show the want and desire to be an NFL player and to work to be better. As well as their actions off the field. Marshall does not fit what the Bengals need. Marshall may turn it around and become a complete dedicated player but that is a gamble for any team to take.

No need to worry. 2010 will be an uncapped year with no minimum team salary either. I just hope Mike Brown spends at least what he did last year.

Everyone is talking about the off the field, correct me if I am wrong, he should up on game day for Denver and played huge is a lot of games, and a change of scenery is what he is wanting, so why not Cincy.

He showed up on most gamedays, he got himself suspended from the team for the last week, a game that could have sent Denver to the playoffs.

The Bengals have built a nice team chemistry down there, they don'tneed to risk it with Marshall

Because he is not going to get what he wants and thats big money!

Ocho-Cinco can't share any ego with Marshal either.

He goes to Cinci he will be happy for 8 games and then he will start his crap and tear the team apart.

He was also suspended before for 3 games in 2008 for off the field actions. He has been injury prone. Some of his injuries have come during the off season. He still has his ego that may change but how many teams want to pay top dollar for someone who can tear apart a team like TO had done. This was Marshall's year to show he has grown up and that he would be worth a big contract which he can up short on.
