At a recent conference call, Vince McMahon announced that the Survior Series - one of the original "Big 4" pay-per views will be eliminated and replaced with a new PPV in its November slot.

During a conference call today, Vince McMahon said that the PPV name Survivor Series is now "obsolete," and will not be used as the title of the November event in the future. He added that the PPV name has "outlasted its usage."

Vince also hopes to start a 24 hour wrestling television network that will air the vast archives of old WWE, WWF, WCW, ECW, AWA, etc. etc. etc. matches. I think Vince now owns the video archives of all major wrestling promotions that ever existed in the US except for TNA. That is A LOT of video to chose from for a tv network!!!

During yesterday's conference call, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon said that he hopes to launch a WWE Network within 18 months. He added the it will not affect regular WWE programming, and that he wants Raw to continue airing on USA and for Smackdown to have a strong home network, whether that be MyNetwork TV or elsewhere.

I have been thinking they should have simply renamed the "Survivor Series" for years due to the fact that over the past 10-15 years, it has not actually been a survivor series at all. They usually have 2 matches of the "survivor series" style and the rest of the card with so-so matches. The original idea was to have several survivor matches followed by the 2 top championship matches.

As for the new network Vince is thinking about, with as easy as older matches are to download from the internet, I am not looking for it to last very long, unless it is a FREE network.
