I like the traditional Detroit and Dallas hosting Thanksgiving day games. Makes no difference how good or how bad either team is.

Looked like some great matchups for the nfl at the start of the season with 6 potential playoff teams going at it but now it resembles a pepto moment after dinner

The Detroit game showed some of the talent they have and they still have work to do. They did make a game of it until the Pats pulled away.
Dallas showed they can play well but not for 4 quarters. The made a good comeback but with the fumble late and Dez Bryant throwing his baby fit they keep hurting themselves. They just can not win on talent alone.
One thing about the games being played in Detroit and Dallas is one of the only traditions the NFL has kept from years passed. It used to be the start of MLB season when the Reds had their parade and play the first game which has gone away because of more money with other games starting the season. Now the NFL has added a game on their own network as well as on other Thursday night games.

I like the tradition of Detroit and Dallas hosting these games. Can't remember if today or yesterday I heard talk show discussion of Goodell and the schedule makers rotating the games throughout the league. Screw tradition I guess.

Detroit has promise. They have been in almost every game they've play this year. They secondary is awful, but the offense is very promising. The penalties have got to stop. They are the most penalized team in the NFL and judging by Swartz's attitude in his statements this week, he actually likes it because he says it means they're "aggresive". The Lions are one of two or three teams I follow fairly well in the NFL and I'd like to see them succeed - they have a great fan base and some great history (if you dig deep enough lol). I root for them every Thanksgiving.
