Patrick Patterson back in the NBA with Rockets

Post by farmer »

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (WSAZ) -- The Houston Rockets have recalled rookie forward Patrick Patterson. The former University of Kentucky star will join the team on Sunday.

Patterson's final two games for the Rio Grande Valley Vipers of the NBA Development League will be Friday and Saturday. Interestingly enough, Patterson faces former Marshall University center Hassan Whiteside and the Reno Bighorns.

Patterson is averaging 17.3 points, 9.6 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in his time with the Vipers, but may not get much playing time with the Houston Rockets. That's because the team has plenty of depth at Patterson's forward position.

Patterson was selected as the 14th overall pick by Houston in the first-round of the NBA Draft, but has yet to play in any games for the Rockets.

He would be a good addition to the Miami Heat. To have him go hard on the boards and not have to worry about scoring.
