One of the things discussed about coaches who may get fired it is related to having trouble at the QB position. Some have rotating QB's and nothing settled or a QB who is under performing.

Jeff Fisher if fired may get some teams to rethink if they are on the fence about a coach. That could also be the same with Cowher and Gruden. I think that the coach should just be the coach and not the GM. They should have influence but not involved in the management side. Especially with the contract up and teams trying to figure that out when it is all over. Even though negotiations do not seem to be bothering teams in getting rid of coaches so far.

As for Rob Ryan I think his brother may have some people thinking he would be a better assistant than a head coach. Rex's ways and the Jets play on and off the field may keep teams away. I think that it maybe better to have Rob as the high paid DC with someone else dealing with the whole team management. Rob maybe more valuable to keep the team defense playing at a high level. This also effects how others are viewed for the head coach job.

I feel at some point next year, we will have NFL football. For the Mike Brown's of the league, waiting and seeing may be a fiscally sound strategy. For Randy Lerner, money probably isn't as big an issue. He's always spent money, just not always wisely. So if Holmgren thinks he or some other candidate is the best option going forward, that move will be made. Keep in mind many of the other teams we are talking about here will pull the plug on their current coach. There will be some irresistible names that some teams (Dallas) will plunge for. For others, waiting too long to put the staff in place will be unconscionable. For sure, teams who will continue intact with their staffs because they are comfortable doing so will have an advantage. But, if we do have a stoppage and it does drag on, several teams will flirt with cutting some staff anyway, resulting in many teams being at an unready state when play resumes.

I like Rob Ryan's energy and enthusiaism. I just wish his defense played more than one quarter a game. I realize the Browns have had injuries but so has every other team by this time of year. I think the shine is off Mr. Ryan.

i think we should hire a preschool teacher to coach since the owner decided he doesn't want players old enough to grow facial hair..

Fisher is hard to figure out. The owner Bud Adams had Vince Young and Kris Johnson with him in a picture on the Titians Christmas Card that was sent out. Only to say that Young will be gone.

Now Andrew Luck says he is staying at Stanford so teams that may have thought about adding him will not be. So the Harbaugh and Luck package deal to the NFL seems to be out.

Not sure which keys Brown gave Marvin but that move is no good without major changes in the way management does things.

Aren't we all fools to the national media. ESPN had half the coaches in the NFL moving on. That sort of stuff sells commercials.

Long overdue...he has interviewed numerous times for openings. No guarantee of success but it is his turn.

I hope they reach an agreement. I know that whoever they bring in as OC will make or break his chances. Alot of talent on the team but they need to get healthy on the o-line and figure out the qb situation. If you can't pass then its over before it starts...
