Carson Palmer will ask the Cincinnati Bengals to trade him and will contemplate retirement if he does not get his wish, according to several sources.

later bro. the draft is coming up. that way we have to address the qb situation, we would have to. but marv and mike would somehow miss that anyway.

Good riddance I hope he leaves we dont need him anyhow. Maybe we can get somebody who can actually get the ball to his recievers.

Just got this tweet on this from Ochocinco and I quote:
Carson Palmer demands a trade? Last person demanded a trade in Cincy was crucified by the media n had to win the fans back, how will this go?
Thats a good point. When Chad wanted to lead he was called selfish and a bad seed and even Marv was all over him. Now lets see what happens with Carson wanting out.

What i herad, Was Palmer wanted a new OC in 2005. Marv wanted the same. Mikey is friends with brat. Then they heard of childress in cinci of a possible new OC. Then the rumor came out the childress would be a a asst to brat. That broke the camels back. Palmer is under contract till 2004. He will make 97 mill in that time period. Hard to give up, but if brat stays it will be more of the same. He has had enough. Put up with him for years, now hes tired of it. Could be a ploy to get him out.

Everyone is basically calling it quits on Palmer but I have to think what does this say about this franchise, if the one player that they should be bending over backwards to keep wants out. When will Mike Brown finally open his eyes and realize that he has put this franchise six feet under and it is getting to a point where there will be no one that can save it. I for one do not want to start all over with another rookie QB and have to go through the growing pains that go along with it. If Brown and Marvin Lewis can get another veteran QB to come in then let Carson go and draft a QB to sit and learn before putting them out there.

My opinion is if Carson wants to leave you don't send him where he wants to go(which I believe is Seattle), to get the most out of this situation the Bengals need to talk to the Redskins, send Carson to a division that he will never win and take McNabb off the Redskins hands, is Donovan a long term solution for the Bengals,,,,no but he will be good enough while they develop a rookie QB that they get in this years draft. I also believe that the Bengals should still draft A.J. Green first then take a QB in the second round, I believe at least one of the top QB's in this draft will fall and the Bengals will be able to pick them up.

I liek that idea even though I dont like McNabb. The Bengals woudl be better off to get a QB to get beat up while the rookie sits and learns.

McNabb would be a "sacrificial lamb" so to speak until the next "franchise" gets use to the pro game.

Palmer has not been the same since he injured his knee and then his arm injuries. But there has been questions about the play calling for years. A few games this year the Bengals started the game moving the ball all the way down the field. After the first series then the play calling changed and so did the Bengals moving the ball. That is on Brat. Was it the 2 WR's free lancing to much well that is a coaching problem not to correct it or sit them down. The coaches know what plays were called and could then evaluate the tape to see which players were doing what they were suppose to do. Part of the problem could be just the lack of confidence in the coaching staff. To me it seemed that Palmer at times would just make a bad decision or just throw up a jump ball. As well as the OLine not blocking the best.

Palmer wanting out maybe the best for him if he still has the skills. When Palmer was out before they brought in back up QB Ryan Fitzpatrick who could not even throw for 100 yards and some games 50 yards. But this year he took over starting in Buffalo and throws the ball all over. So maybe it is the play calling or could be just not a good fit. Not saying Fitzpatrick is an great QB but he sure has done better in Buffalo. If Palmer does leave that puts the Bengals in a spot with the second team QB being his brother. They do have Dan LeFevour who many were very high on in last years draft. So this decision by Palmer and the Bengals really effects the entire team. Hard to see what other changes they will make.

I love how everything that is wrong in Cinci has somehow becaome Palmers fault. There OC sucks and there head coach doesn't have the bolts to make the change. Palmer has had some rough patches but all QB's have them. Give the guy a break. His Oline has been pathetic at best the last few years. He had the Barnum and Bailey Circus for WR's this year....I don't blame him for wanting out....Good luck Carson Palmer I hope you get your wish.

Not everything is Palmer's fault but this organization is not helping by keeping Brat. As well as waisting an entire season without trying to fix whatever the problem/problems are. Marvin says things will change but if he doesn't do anything more or improve the staff and decisions made then it will be another wasted year no matter who the QB is. Until Brown hires a football guy as GM it will not matter how much talent they have.

Bengals owner Mike Brown says he won't trade quarterback Carson Palmer.

Brown said on Monday that Palmer met with him a little more than a week ago and asked to be traded. Brown told Palmer that he wouldn't consider it because the quarterback is central to the team's plans. He plans to talk to Palmer again to try to smooth over their differences.

Brown made the comments in an interview with The Cincinnati Enquirer and the team's Web site in Mobile, Ala., where the Bengals are coaching players for the Senior Bowl.

The Bengals have made no significant changes coming off a 4-12 season. Coach Marvin Lewis returned even though Brown said the front office didn't need to change. The Bengals have only two winning records in the last 20 years.

I have a problem with QBs (or other position players) throwing a tantrum to get to a team they want to go to. A team invests in a player and develops him so he can hold his breath 'til he gets to a "SC" town. Let him retire!

What about someone like Troy Smith coming to Cincy? He would do fine with a good line and a good group of WR's, and they have talent at RB.

I could see him doing well there for 2-3 years until they get a top draft pick at QB up to speed.

Then again, with all of the local southern Ohio chicken fighting clubs, Michael Vick could be a good choice too.....at least he could feed his animal fighting/gambling addiction and play in a good offense to boot.
