Bengals and the draft?
Ok im gonna try to make since of what im a bout to say lol so stay calm and read the best you can.
theirs alot of things the bengals need in this draft they need defence line offence line running back qb and wide outs with that being said if you was the coach/owner would you keep the number 4 spot and go for gabbert or nwton or maybe even aj or julio or would you trade?
if the bengals could find some 1 around the 8-12 range to trade with hmmm maybe tenn or washington both needing qbs they could draft julio with that pick cause with or without ocho-johnson they need a wide out this year or should the bengals stay at 4 and take gabbert or newton and then in rd 2 pull on a torrey smith or jon baldwin both good players?
so back to this they also need both lines fixed and a rb. in rd 2 or 3 they could get a good back and a good def lineman. such as. in round 2 they could probably grab demarco murray or maybe even ryan williams if they go back but in rd 2 they could grab jabaal sheard or allen bailey at def end.
so anyhow what do you think they should do lol?

Re: Bengals and the draft?
If I were the Bengals I would take AJ Green at #4, then try and trade Palmer for another first round pick or second round pick. Then they need to try to either get Ryan Mallet or Greg Macaroy.
Re: Bengals and the draft?
Well, If we dont trade our pick for kolb. BOWERS or green. Could get another 1st for palmer. Big need for qbs (even us)
I really not sold on any qbs in draft. They said bengals will be rebuilding for 2 years.

Re: Bengals and the draft?
The Julio Jones situation with the broken foot is may be injury prone. Andre Smith also from Alabama has not done much so far. So Green would be a safer choice. Jones may end up with the better career but the Bengals have not had the best luck with some draft picks.
I have not heard how the Bengals feel about LeFebvre that they got last year at QB. Many people were very high on him last year around draft time. Kolb maybe a better option at QB than drafting a QB with the amount of talent already in the skill positions on offense. If the NFL and players do not get things settled until closer to the start of the season a rookie QB would have to much to learn to be much help this year.
The offensive line is a major need no matter who is the QB. They have to protect a QB or they will get beat up. Much like the Lions have done with thier QB's last year.
So it depends on what they do with Palmer and the NFL contract on how they procede with the draft.

Re: Bengals and the draft?
I don't see Palmer being worth a first round pick. Maybe a so/so veteran and a 2nd or 3rd.

.I'm a Brown's fan. We've been rebuilding since 1964.

Re: Bengals and the draft?
last years draft was good for bengals , cant say that happens very often. Dont have to much hope with out a QB. Bengals went through a lot, so did cleveland. QB spot does make a BIG difference. And I dont want Cam. He will be a sneaker salesman.

If i was the coach here what id do id trade down from 4 to 8-12 and tke julio. then with palmers pick wethers its a late first or early second i take mallett locker or ponder whichever is left in that order. then i take daniel thomas or demarco murray. then u go d-line like jabaal sheard or allen bailey thats just me. but if i threw together a mock right now id have them taking newton or gabbert.

Yea he is a good QB but thats a big chance to take. He's from a small school that would be about the same as taking the kid from Boise Kelen Moore.

Re: Bengals and the draft?
If i'm the Bengals i try and trade down out of the fourth pick. They need to try and retool the interior oline starting at center. Cook was an undrafted free agent who is an average player at best, then you have Livings another undrafted free agent and Bobbie Williams who is way over the hill. They always go after the skilled position players high and lineman low, i think its way past time to take a different approach . Plus what are they going to do about fat Andre Smith ? If you could trade Palmer for a low first rounder i would and grab a good center for starters. I would even give up the fourth pick to get rid of Palmer just for the simple fact he doesn't want to be there. Then i would look at a Stanzi or Mallet in second round. Maybe explore a trade to make Kevin Kolb your starter, who knows Mike Brown has it all figured out anyway, right?lol.

CHARLIE WE GOTTA GET A QB, NO WAY AROUND IT, THEN I AGREE, WORK ON THAT LINE, AND GET BACK TO SMASHMOUTH RUNNING, BUT THAT IS GONNA TAKE A DURABLE, BLUE CHIP RUNNING BACK, NOT CEDRICK BENSON.

I agree . i just don't want to see a qb taken at number four. I'm not a fan of Newton or Locker. Cedric put the ball on the ground too much for my liking.
Re: Bengals and the draft?
I donot want cam. Do need a qb. Need to shore up the o-line. I would like a pass rusher.

I think a safe pick at four would be JJ Watt out of Wisconsin. I don't want to see Newton , Locker , or Green at number 4.

I say they try to get Newton. He's overrated, a Vince Young Jr., has character issues as well as a shady PaPa. Perfect fit the Bungles.

Kelen Moore could rock the NFL. He reminds me of Tom Brady, but better feet.Rebels on 3 wrote:Yea he is a good QB but thats a big chance to take. He's from a small school that would be about the same as taking the kid from Boise Kelen Moore.
