I agree they got more for him then the last two (star) pitchers they tradeddanicalifornia wrote:Great, great trade for the Reds. Completely stole 3 prospects for a dude coming off of his first good season that doesn't project well moving forward.
Luis Castillo has hit 100 mph and has had a great K/BB ratio in the minors. He was ranked 2nd in the Marlins farm system. Austin Brice was ranked 9th and when he switched to the pen last year, he was utterly dominant in the minors. Struggled in the show, but most guys do at first. Isiah Harris is super raw, but has super upside.
Yeah that's not ideal lol, but this might be the start of more positive days.d-5 wrote:I agree they got more for him then the last two (star) pitchers they tradeddanicalifornia wrote:Great, great trade for the Reds. Why be the Redlegs trading for "hot" prospects instead of finding and developing them through scouting and their farm system?danicalifornia wrote:Great, great trade for the Reds. Completely stole 3 prospects for a dude coming off of his first good season that doesn't project well moving forward.

I've heard that their top pick from last year's draft could be ready really soon, which would be a great help for them. I know I use the Cubs as an example a lot in rebuilding, for good reason, but nearly everything they had for this past season was picked up through trades. Bryant, Schwarber, Baez, Soler, and Almora are the only contributors for the Champions that came through the farm system, everyone else was acquired through trades and free agency. Sometimes you have to make trades to get players to build up.Omega wrote:Why be the Redlegs trading for "hot" prospects instead of finding and developing them through scouting and their farm system?danicalifornia wrote:Great, great trade for the Reds.
