I just looked at the link that Spenceman posted as it said Wasonga is the 22 ranked RB in the nation also he is a 4 star player, number 1 player in all of West Virginia. Some of his top schools were Pitt, Penn State, OU, WVU, and OSU.

I guess he took a visit to Marshall and they offered him but you could be right he might be walking on I dont know for sure. I think Penn ST and OU were other teams that offered him, but Tenn. was also interested.

From what I have read he will be walking on at Marshall. Check Scout or Rivals site he is not listed on their LOI lists.
Take it for what it's worth I "heard" most schools, WVU, Syracuse, Ohio, Marshall pulled scholarship offer. If indeed he is walking on at Marshall, the information I have read and heard makes sense.

Rebels on 3 wrote:I have seen Wasonga play about 10 time and he is a very good back. I know when he was at Point he had around 1600 yards and I dont remember how many touchdowns. Then he went to Parkersburg a much bigger school and had around 1700 yards and a guess at about 25 touchdowns. Last I heard Allan had 15 D-1 school looking at him, with WV being the top runner for Allan.
15 offers cant be right if he is just a walk on at marshall

PARKERSBURG -Parkersburg High School running back Allan Wasonga, the 2009 West Virginia Gatorade Player of the Year, is taking his talents to Marshall University.
Wasonga signed an institutional letter to become a member of the Thundering Herd football program during a Wednesday morning ceremony at Colombo's Restaurant.
Institutional letters are signed by players who enjoy either preferred walk-on or grayshirt status.
Accompained by his father, Willis, his brother E.J. and his sister Catherine, the 5-foot-9, 200-pound speedster culminated a life-long dream by signing a college football offer.
"It's a great feeling,'' Wasonga said. "I'm excited.''
After gaining 2,203 yards during his junior season at PHS, Wasonga attracted the attention of many college recruiters. After his senior season was dominated by injuries that severely cut into his playing time and hampered his performance, many of those recruiters backed off. Not Marshall. Wasonga said coach Doc Holliday told him he could see playing time as early as this fall.
Wasonga attended Wednesday's ceremony wearing a cast on his foot, on which he recently underwent surgery for torn ligaments."It feels better than it did before,'' said Wasonga, who plans to run track for Parkersburg High School this spring. He placed in the sprint events at the state meet during his freshmen season at Point Pleasant High School.
Wasonga was a first team all-state selection as a junior, but was relegated to special honorable mention his senior season.
Wasonga was part of a double signing on Wednesday morning as he was joined at Colombo's by fellow PHS senior Justin Johnson, who signed a letter-of-intent with West Virginia University. Those in attendance noted the two might be playing against one another in the annual Friends of Coal Bowl game between the Mountain State's two major universities. The players quickly pointed out they both play on the offensive side of the ball and thus wouldn't be going directly against each other.

After he had to have his foot worked on, alot of the big schools backed off.
