As for the big east's .500 record in BCS games, they've performed decently when they've went, but there are schools that deserve to go more. If the more deserving school would have went instead, that win % against the same opponents might be .800 right now!

I have the perfect solution for your thoughts/feelings on this topic.... create another division for SEC and Big 10 only. Have your own bowl games and crown your own national champion. I started to include Pac10 with you but every year I read how weak it is outside of a team or two (USC, Oregon).
I posted the records of wvu and louisville when they went. uc in the last 2 years was deserving of their chance to play. the only year that might be questioned would have been 04 when pitt made it with 8-3 record. i can remember fsu making it one year with worse record than that.
