Re: Texas vs. Ohio State
To those who say the conservative play calling and run first/play defense, big ten style football
can't win big games against SEC opponets, apparently haven't watched Nick Saban and the
Big Ten system he runs down south.
It won him a couple of SEC titles and a national title at LSU, and brought Bama out
of the gutter and to a 12-0 regular season in just two years.

Re: Texas vs. Ohio State
Not Tressel's fault on that one, he recruited the right guys and gave them to
his coaching staff.
The same guy who coaches the line, coordinates the offense.

You won't have many arguements with Bollman getting the axe.
You can't do it mid-stream though, wait till the post bowl game months,
then you'll likely get your wish.

Tress needs to stick to just being the head coach and not play calling.
If the defense plays great then the Bucks win. OSU cannot score with Texas!

Defense for the bucks will get them a win. The offense isn't consistent enough to be dependent on it but all in all
BUCKEYES GET THE WIN!!!!!

Re: Texas vs. Ohio State
This should be a tough game. If Ohio State plays to their full potential on offense and defense, they shouldn't have too many problems. Buckeyes roll, 28-17.

Re: Texas vs. Ohio State
UT is NOT a one man show and the Bucks Im sure are aware of this. I just moved to Dallas and nothing would please me more than to watch the Bucks dismantle the Longhorns. Maybe it will shut up these local radio stations a bit, but unfortunatly for me the Cowboys are still here.
1 thing that I would say that goes in favor of the Bucks is defense. I have watched several Big 12 games since being here and no one plays defense. Hence 60-41, 45-35 type games all season. Someone said OSU has not seen an ofense like UT this year, how about a little team in So. Cali called USC. But I know Texas hasnt seen a D like the Bucks play.
I am not a fan of either team, so my opinion is unbiased I see this one being within 7 either way.

I still think Todd Boeckman is better than Terrelle Pryor right now. Jim Tressel made an executive decision to go with Pryor and look to the future rather than stick with Boeckman who might have produced more. For Ohio State to have a chance Beanie Wells and The Offensive line will have to keep the ball away from Texas. I hope Tressel focuses on the running game with TP and Wells and we don't don't have to watch our QB stand in the pocket without much idea of whats in front of him. The only wildcard is how good are the defenses in The Big 12. I'd say to get a clue you might watch The Cotton Bowl on New Years Day. If Ole Miss slows down Graham Harrell and Texas Tech the Buckeyes might have a little better shot. Prediction.

Re: Texas vs. Ohio State
We can always look at what 'might have been'. I actually thought maybe a dual-QB system would have worked nice if run the correct way. Look at what Florida did when they ran the dual-QB with Tebow and Leak. It worked effectively. It seemed like in the USC game that the ball was moving down the field well when they were switching in and out, but then JT went with Boeckman for much of the game. The offensive line does indeed need to show up in this game. As for the Big 12 defenses, it doesnt seem like they have ever played much of a defense. I mean look at the scores between the top 3 teams in the conference. TTU 39-UT 33, OU 35-UT45, OU 65-TTU 21. These are all high scoring games meaning no defense.
Ohio State ranks in the top 10 in turnover margin, total allowed yards a game, total allowed points per game, and total passing defense per game. Texas ranks in the top 10 in points per game, total yards per game, and passing efficiency per game. Texas defense ranks 50th which is behind teams we have played such as Penn State which we hung with and Wisconsin.
Looks like it will be our defense matching up with their offense since our strength in defense is defending the pass and their strength in offense is passing. I think that the X-factor as usual is Pryor. If he can get to the outside and make some plays and make them bite on some play-action to set up big plays, we can pull it off. I dont see why people are saying this will be a lopsided loss.

Texas' offense is untested. If you average out the rankings of the defenses the Longhorns have faced you get an average of like 91st. Granted, playing in the Big 10, OSU's defense hasn't exactly been playing the nation's top offenses but they did keep one of the nation's best running backs in check when they held Javon Ringer to just 67 yards.
