Anybody who says Meeks must have never watched college basketball. Period.

Curry is one of the best three players in college basketball. Meeks? Maybe top 20. He had 54 against an awful UT defense. Congrats. Curry has had 40 multiple times this week and the defense has been completely focused on him everytime because his supporting cast is not that good. Meeks has players around him.

Agree 100%. Tennessee is not a at team, nor are they great defensively---they are long and athletic. Meeks is good, I am not disputing that, but he is not Curry. Just Patterson? The kid is a former HS All-American. Quick name a player on the Davidson team other then Curry, yea.

who are these great defenses curry is facing?

Duke????? Saw the game in person, they sent everyone they could at him, and he still put up 29. Duke is a VERY good defensive team. Maybe you missed Davidson's run in the tourny last season.

i would take curry....he could 3-16 from 3 and still score 30 points...he shot like that against duke and still had 29 plus he is playing point guard and averaging what 5 or 6 assists
meeks is still a very good player though i was thinkin about this once i seen the highlights when he scored 54
and didnt he score 50 in another game?

and another player on davidson.....lovedale,mckillop the coaches son

This is why this thread is not a good one. No facts to back up your opinion aside from you are a UK fan. The SEC is not very good, not 1 ranked team in the conference. Tennessee is average, nothing more.

Davidson doesn't play against d2 schools, that is a comment that is wrong. They play a d1 schd because they play in a d1 conference. They have played the likes of Duke, WVU, NC State, so I would say they aren't dodging anyone.

Last season they played Duke and North Carolina and he nearly beat both by himself.

more like 72 pts a game

I did it quick in my head and got 78. Did it quick on a calc and got 76.

Looked it up on ESPN and it says 76.3 PPG...And if we wanted to get technical, we could take out the first four games in which they gave up 75 to UT-Chat, 64 to UT-Martin, 66 to Mid Tenn St, and 64 to Siena. That sure lowers the average. Take that out and they give up 79. 3 PPG.

The 79.3 PPG includes games against UNC-Ash, Belmont, Louisiana Lafayette, and Temple.

Its not very good hammerdown. Im sorry.

You are getting no one. If he were in the SEC on an SEC team he would do exactly what he does now. He put up 29 on Duke, a team much better then any team in the SEC, what else do you want? He has more 30+ games then Meeks, his team is not as good and he makes them into a Top 25 team. He took over the WVU game and put up 27 on them.

BTW, he plays in the Southern Conference, Marshall was a former member, so at least educate yourself on the difference between d1 and d2.

As a sophomore Curry's schd included UNC (24pts), Duke(20), NC State(29), Gonzaga(40), Georgetown(32), Wisconsin (33), UCLA(15), and Kansas(25)---Talk now.

Duke is much better than anyone that Meeks has faced, your argument is bogus.

Dominique Wilkins scored more in a single game then Michael Jordan, is he the better player (insert dumb smily here)?

yeah i messed up on the d1 and d2 thing there peake.

but a lot of your so called d1 opponest couldn't beat a good high school team. for goodness sake morehead is a d1 school so that bogus point means nothing anyway.

you keep belly aching after i said curry was better so i got you.

there is noway curry avg 29 a game if he played in the SEC. were talking basketball not fanasty land here.

i will say this slowly one more time so you can understand curry is better than meeks.

haha a D1 team vs. a good high school team?? Seriously?!

I think your argument is done now.

Also, I see why you think they give up 72. You are looking at their exhibition scores in which they held Tusculum to 51 points. Their season opener was against UT-Chat.

FROM ESPN......

W-L PF PA HOME ROAD STK
TENN 11-5 83.4 76.3 6-2 3-2 W1
VAN 12-5 68.9 58.9 8-2 1-3 L1

His arguments were done a long time ago, but for the sake of debate---The SEC is not very good, better then the Southern Conference, but not very good.

I don't care who he plays in conference, that doesn't tell much, but when he plays to notch competition, he does this: Sophomore-UNC (24pts), Duke(20), NC State(29), Gonzaga(40), Georgetown(32), Wisconsin (33), UCLA(15), and Kansas(25)--Junior- Duke (29), WVU (27), NC State (33).

If you need more evidence, then I question if you even can tell me if a basketball is pumped or stuffed.

Would he average 29 a game against SEC, no one will ever know, but he does average 29 now and has put up similar or better numbers against top 5 teams. That is the evidence we are given, with this limited evidence it is evident he could put up 29 a game vs anyone.

The SEC really isnt good.

Florida and UK are their best teams and they arent very good. Tennessee is surprisingly ranked.

After last years performance in the tournament, I'll take Curry. If Curry can consistently put a team like Davidson on his shoulders and carry them through the NCAA tournament then theres no question. Meeks is a good player as well, and could just as well be better than Curry, but Meeks hasn't led UK very far in the tournament. Although, here are some statistics...

-Last year, Curry played 1193 minutes compared to Meeks' 255.
-This year, so far, Meeks is 181 for 387 FG/FGA for 46.8%....87 for 201 3PM/3PA for 43.3%
-This year, so far, Curry is 238 for 517..which is a lot more than what Meeks has taken..and Curry is also 98 for 254 from behind the arc for 38.6%
-Curry has played 26 minutes more than Meeks
