Re: Possible violations at OSU
There are 980 scholarship athletes at OSU. $110,000 is spent on each athlete by the university, three times what they spend on other undergraduates at the university. Their $110,000,000 athletic budget is the largest in the country. I cannot believe that they do not have a line item yet for "tatoos". Perhaps they and/or the legislature of the State of Ohio will fund such a line item for these tatoos in their next budget while at the same time slicing the budget even further for K-12 schools in Ohio.

During non-conference they'll be fine, and the MSU game shouldn't be an issue as they'll have 4 games in and be ready.Orange and Brown wrote:No Nat Championship run next year.

Re: Possible violations at OSU
I have lost my taste for major college sports largely because it all is a sham operating as an amateur athletic enterprise. As a parent who is shelling out private college tuition because my son is a decent football player who wasn't offered by a school above DIII but loves the game, I have no sympathy for the line that they did it to help their families. We get no help at all and my family certainly isn't rich. So we do what thousands of other families will do and borrow to pay tuition for the next twenty-five years. At least the OSU kids have a shot at NFL riches. My kid is going to be an over-paid coddled public school teacher. Just strip the fig leaf away from the amateur status and do away with scholarships. If the kid is that good an athlete, let him sell some memorabilia but don't insult my intelligence. One last thing, they "saved" the good BCS people behind the Sugar Bowl. That right there should tell you what it's all about.

Just reported that the FBI agents that were involved in the bust all graduated from SEC schools. As well as their wives and significant others are from Arkansas or graduated from Arkansas. Then it came out that the investagation was started by their supervisor who is a graduate from Arkansas but while drinking one night in Columbus woke up with a tattoo. When he sobered up he found out he spent the night with a woman he met and her name was on the tattoo. The supervisor knew that his wife would never believe him so he busted the tattoo parlor so he could try to tell his wife that the tat was just his undercover investigation. He developed his mastermind scheme when he was home for Thanksgiving dinner with his cousin who is the SEC President.

Man Dub, why so quick to let go of your saviour TP? I thought you would stick by his side more than that?seofan_via_dublin wrote:During non-conference they'll be fine, and the MSU game shouldn't be an issue as they'll have 4 games in and be ready.Orange and Brown wrote:No Nat Championship run next year.

This doesn't surprise me at all out of him...what a joke. He should be suspended for the bowl game as well as the others...TP's suspension just pushed him to the NFL..vest boy must have done some begging.

Re: Possible violations at OSU
TP was never my savior, he's a good talent but will never make the next step because he's an idiot!!!
If you remember, I was the one that took heat at the start of the season for saying that TP had been doing things that would get him and the school in trouble!

NCAA is a joke, if it weren't about the money then they would suspend them for the bowl game. What a bunch of hypocritical crooks the NCAA are.

losing Boom wont be bad because the buckeyes have plenty are guys that can replace him in the back field. My concern is not having a proven QB for the first 5 games but the good news is 4 of those 5 are home games.

Re: Possible violations at OSU
I hope TP enters the draft. He is an awesome athlete, but will never be a great QB. He is a thug and lacks not only maturity, but common sense.
The turmoil will begin if TP stays next year, Miller gets the early season nod at QB and then we have a QB controversy and we all know Tress is loyal to the seniors.
Jamal Berry and Jordan Hall will replace Boom without a hitch. Miller will be young, but will have all summer and 4 easy games to get it together. Posey will be missed.

TP may enter the NFL, but it will be through the unstaffed free agent market!

Here the problem the NCAA is saying its fine to pimp your son out to play, but God forbid he tries to make some money on his own. He does that and we wont give him the Heisman, but we will suspend him 5 games.
The NCAA is so hypocritcal it isnt funny.

Re: Possible violations at OSU
Don't forget about Smith the Redshirt tailback from Indiana. He has been tearing it up in the practices leading up to the sugar bowl. They will be really thin at wr next yr. I am not sure Posey was going to return anyway. Qb will be a tossup. I do not like Bauserman. Miller is set to enroll early so he will be playing springball. Don't forget about Graham,I've heard good things about him. I really don't get how you can justify not suspending them for the bowl game. Didn't troy smith get a bowl game suspension and 1-2 games to begin the following season?

If there is a NFL season or a draft in 2011 he will be drafted. He will test out of site at the combine and someone will take a chance on him.seofan_via_dublin wrote:TP may enter the NFL, but it will be through the unstaffed free agent market!
