I forgot we should'nt talk about one football conference winning 5 straight Natl' titles , it's a non issue around here in little ten country . lol MD
Re: Auburn 2011 Nat Champ SEC 5 in a row !
The Big Ten should make fun of themselves having like a million teams in a conference with 10 in the title

Congrats to the Auburn Tigers; a national title 6 years overdue. Was great to see Cam Newton get smacked around and rattled a little though.
I actually think Ohio State/Arkansas would've had a great shot to beat those teams last night. Every night? Heck no, but they had a pretty lackluster preformance last night on the offensive end. TCU fans were watching that game and probably thinking they could've hung with those two.

the field itself seemed to slow the game down and both teams couldnt stand up. a pretty nice match up.

The only thing I got out of bowl season was a lot of waiting, meaningles bowl games, ESPN bull$$$$,and the BIG TEN have the worst officals in the country.PLAYOFFS!!!!!

OK, Bleeding Red has already thrown out his prediction for how long before this championship is vacated....
So, what is the over/under on the title being vacated?
What is the over/under on when Newton's Heisman will follow the path of Reggie Bush's Heisman?
I'd say that with Newton bolting to the NFL, my original thoughts about how long it is going to take to get all of the wrongdoing exposed have definitely changed.
Since the NCAA now has some experience in investigation a mess of this magnitude (thanks Reggie Bush), I'm saying 24-30 months. My understanding is that the FBI is now involved, and they don't jump to conclusions or make rash judgments......
Will be interesting to see how this plays out and how "ignorant" Cameron was of his father's transgressions....... :122246

Let them investigate every college footbll player, and 90% of them would be ruled ineligible

It's not a discussion of if they're guilty, it's a statement of the guilty party getting special treatment when they get caught.

let me see 5 games suspension for selling personal items or no suspensions for $180000. THE TATOO 5 NEED TO HAVE THEIR PARENTS SELL THEIR SERVICES TO THE HIGHEST BIDDER.......
Re: Auburn 2011 Nat Champ SEC 5 in a row !
Your dad pimps you out for $180,000 and you get a 1 day suspension, the heisman and a national title. You sell your own personal possessions for $1000-$2000 and you get a 5 game suspension. Seems about right.
Re: Auburn 2011 Nat Champ SEC 5 in a row !
For things similar to what the Tat 5 did? Maybe 50% tops.KingJames wrote:Let them investigate every college footbll player, and 90% of them would be ruled ineligible
For things like Cam Newton? 1-5% tops.
We're talking a pay-to-play scandal during the recruiting process. This money issue went to the heart of the recruiting process and is the definition of gaining a competitive advantage through illegal methods.
A guy who was steadfast in saying that USC and Reggie Bush would be hammered by the NCAA, even when people doubted, is saying that he is even more confident that Auburn is buried. He says they know it too, but are hanging onto the slimmest of hopes that they escape.

Re: Auburn 2011 Nat Champ SEC 5 in a row !
The problem I have with this is Scam Newton acts like he had no idea that his father was running around bartering his sons services to schools. Is the NCAA really that STUPID to believe he had no knowledge? I dont think so. I think it is EASIER for the NCAA to cover it up with a thin layer of dirt and deal with it later as they have more time to investigate.
Now we know the Heisman committee doesnt play around, but I wonder if the NCAA will think its better to be water under the bridge, or dig a little deeper? I think they will let this all die down and re-evaluate the situation on their own timetable.
This will all come to the forefront, just a matter of time. Bank robbers almost always get out of the bank with the money. The hard part is keeping their mouth shut, which in nearly every arrest that is what gets them caught. This wont be different. I truly feel someone paid Auburn for Cam to play there. The problem is going to rise when that person doesnt get PAID BACK and get a "return" on their investment.
But if Scam knew about his father's actions, it is a recruiting violation. Even if it wasnt with Auburn, how does he not get penalized for Miss State already acknowledging they were presented with an "offer" for Scam to play there from Scam's father? There is no way he didnt know what his father was doing!
This in my opinion is the biggest joke in football right now. Throw the OSU saga out the window. NCAA must have some balls to drop the hammer on OSU and just turn their head over Auburn and Newton.
Ah....but when you look at how much money Auburn is going to make from the championship, you understand why!

Cam doesn't even have to know for it to be a violation!!!
Re: Auburn 2011 Nat Champ SEC 5 in a row !
Big money makes people do things these days that may not have been thought of years ago. Whether it's a Heisman or championship it's better to get the money, get that immediate gratification, so what if you have to give it back, that bird has flown. I'm surprised that he even left Florida, I didn't think they had that much on the ball. Academic fraud, that's no big deal just transfer to CC then someone else in the SEC will pick you up and maybe with a bunch of money to boot. That running back for Ohio State would have never been in prison if he played in the SEC.
