Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
They have agreed to a deal, several credible reports now. Sports by Brooks reports Studrawa and Fickell are likely to join his staff.

Read it again 'dubs. The article was written 2 days ago, it talks about Smith's LOIC and Gee's endorsement even after the mess up. I don't see them doing anything to him.seofan_via_dublin wrote:That memo from Gee to Smith was written before the failure to monitor charge came out, and before an investigation showed that Smith did very little to keep players from contact with DiGeronimo.
Ge'ez stance has since changed, his review is not so glowing anymore.

I think it's done now. I was waiting it out but I think it's all but done now.
Congrats on landing the biggest fish of them all. As I was saying to someone earlier today, I've only seen two guys who still are coaching today that are on his level.
It will be hard for me to see him in anything but orange and blue but.....

I am willing to bet anyone on here any amount of money Herbie won't be coaching at OSU.
He is the top broadcaster in all of college sports he is not leaving the spotlight. Second when is the last time this guy coached? Oh, never.
If he does it's not like it would matter to me, I think it is all just a bunch of fluff right now for OSU fans to glamor about.

I can't stand to hear the guy talk. I hope you are right, Peake.

Peake, I'm not taking that bet.
ACC, the next time Brooks gets something right or as a scoop will be the first time!
He's worthless as tits of a boar hog!
Frank, the article was written 2 days ago, but the email from Gee to Smith was written back in October.
Gee's stance has changed.

I think the biggest sign that it's a done deal, 2 full days of twitter hype, even the perineal last horse in Brooks Melichor has posted, and still no word of denial or even a mention from ESPN or Meyer himself.
It's staying very quiet from the actual parties involved.
There is the possibility still that this blows up in OSU's face and the lose the fish they've caught before they get him in the boat!

Brooks has listed, Stuwara, Spielman, Herbie, John Tenuta, Fickell, and Stan Drayton as members of Meyer's staff.
He also believes Meyer has paired with Tebow to raise the dead and hire the zombie forms of Woody, Bo, Alonzo Stagg, Paul Brown, and Bear Bryant.
They tried to raise Lou Holtz, but he's been dead too long!

Buckle up! It will be an interesting ride regardless of the outcome. I'd say OSU better win the championship early in his tenure because he won't be a career coach.
Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
Well Urban just said on national TV there was no truth to this rumor he's not accepted the job,,,either he's a big liar and you can't trust his word, or this was just a wild goose chase,Lukes job might be safe after all....

Meyer just said he hasnt been offered by OSU while in the booth at the Michigan game they said said they wanted to clear the rumor up.....That being said I believe with all my heart that he will be our head coach why go as far as saying that at a UM game we have two games left and dont want a Distraction brought down on the Team
Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
Even if he does accept it someday I just don't see him being there very long,if he does indeed have health problems like he has said Ohio State is not a good place to rehab a bad heart

Its also being reported on espn.com that sources close to urban Meyer and sources close to Ohio state have both told espn analysts and espn.com that the two have been in contact about the job. But also said no contract has been put in place. All Meyer said during the Michigan-Nebraska game was that he has not been offered a job and certainly hasn't accepted the job

He hasn't "accepted" the job, because there is no job to offer, and no job to accept.
When there is something to accept, then he will do so.

Egg-Zackly. It's humorous anyone even would take ANY of that seriously to begin with. It's even funnier not long after that ESPN reporters did their usual three day late reporting on the fact here has been contact between the parties. And after the game Meyer refused to comment to the AP all together.

Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
Meanwhile, there was a game today against PSU. In the last few seconds, it appears OSU is letting another stinker. An easily winnable game if not for poor coaching. Talent is there; all we need is the coach.
Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
Meyer cant get here soon enough. No excuse for losing to Purdue or to Penn State today. OSU has way too much talent for this kind of play. Fickell in defending OSU running the wildcat with Hall or someone other than Miller taking the snap said, it worked for Penn State. Da, their QB is not a dual threat, idiot! Miller is a threat everytime he takes the snap. No-one else should be lining up at QB. Why do you not call timeout with a 4th and 5 with about 2:30 to play? Instead you get a false start now it's 4th and 10 with around 2:00 to play. You figure they'll call a timeout to set up a play, NO! Turnover on downs after a Miller scramble comes up a yard short. With the exception of the one handed grab by Posey how many other balls were thrown his way? Fickell tried to explain that away as well.

Re: Scout.com reports Meyer, OSU agree to deal.
totally agree, if miller is 6-4 and is a pocket passer then yeah sure run the wildcat. all your doing with hall or boom n the wildcat is basically announcing to the defense to load the box with 10 cause your running the ball. then we try to hand if off, are we actually practicing that crap. what a waste of time at practice. we put ourselves in 3rd and long so much it looks like its by design i would love to know what shugarts punishment is in practice for jumping offsides? if its running or grass drills he should be in better shape than anyone on the team. i think i read somewhere that he has over 10 this season. unbelievable. maybe he is actually deaf and doesnt want anyone to know. i have been saying since the miami fla game that i would love to see us announce the hiring of meyer on november 21st. let fickell coach the michigan game, kinda al'a earle bruce, give the team a chance to send him out a winner and also it gives us 2 months for meyer to try to save the recruiting class. it would be nice if the ncaa would cooperate and announce something quickly.
