This isn't directed at the Big East, but I think an overall rule should be implemented for all conferences.
If the conference champion has more than three losses, the conference loses its automatic bid and the slot will be chosen independently by the bowl committee.
SHOULD THE BIG EAST BE KNOCKED OUT OF THE BCS AUTO BID?
Re: SHOULD THE BIG EAST BE KNOCKED OUT OF THE BCS AUTO BID?
Wasn't the the Notre Dame inclusion in the BCS if their record was good enough they would automatically be in. Which has not really even come close in most years. If they want the best teams playing then that is not a team with 3 losses.

Re: SHOULD THE BIG EAST BE KNOCKED OUT OF THE BCS AUTO BID?
By Friday evening Alabama could possibly have their 3rd loss...at best they will have lost 2....No one in their right mind could say that they are not one of the top teams in America either way...The BCS is a joke....all political...and the computer..
...But I would imagine they will pass the "eye-test" to most fair-minded football fans Friday....But to answer the question...Of course no Big East team belongs in the BCS equation this year...But there have been years where they more than richly deserved it...And one more thing about the BCS...Michigan State is ranked #10 in the country this week..
...Hell there are 10 teams in the SEC who would beat them this Saturday if they played and maybe 11 if MSU would have to play Saturday night in Lexington...

Please list the 10 SEC teams that WOULD beat Michigan State. The General wrote:By Friday evening Alabama could possibly have their 3rd loss...at best they will have lost 2....No one in their right mind could say that they are not one of the top teams in America either way...The BCS is a joke....all political...and the computer.....But I would imagine they will pass the "eye-test" to most fair-minded football fans Friday....But to answer the question...Of course no Big East team belongs in the BCS equation this year...But there have been years where they more than richly deserved it...And one more thing about the BCS...Michigan State is ranked #10 in the country this week..

Georgia can't beat Colorado but they WOULD (not could) beat Michigan State.
This is the problem I have with you. I agree that the SEC is the best conference. Even though the SEC and Big Ten are tied head-to-head in bowl games during the past 10 yrs or so, the SEC has been better at the very top. They have proven it with national title wins. They also have a slightly larger number of NFL draft picks per team than the Big Ten.
Finally, they are more balanced which makes them appear stronger. Ohio State has dominated the Big Ten and has pretty much been doing so for nine years. During that time, the SEC has had about four or five teams reach the pinnacle. As shown in the New Year's Day bowl games, however, when those teams come back down from that pinnacle, they play at a similar level to the Big Ten teams in the same position.
Still, all things considered, the SEC is a better conference. Yet, you make outlandish comments like the one above, and then anyone who argues with you is told to be blinded by misconceptions.
I think you could take Auburn, Alabama, LSU, Arkansas, Ohio State, Wisconsin, Michigan State, and Iowa (before they quit against Minnesota) and get a lot of good football games. The outcomes would be dependent on the point in the season. I agree that MSU has appeared to have fallen off a bit and Auburn has gotten a lot better.

This is why no one can take SEC fans seriously!

Well Mich St gets to play Alabama in a bowl. Mich St does what they need to win games will be wonderful for them to beat Alabama. Then the SEC fans will need to come up with some excuse to put down the Big 10.
