What QB's from OSU's systems through the years have "held up" in the NFL?....

Re: The state of WVU Football
I don't care what a QB does I'm the NFL.
Their responsibility to the Buckeyes is to help the Buckeyes win games.
What they do when they leave the university is up to them.
This discussion forum is about college sports.
Not the NFL.
There are countless numbers of players who have excelled in the college game, but failed to live up to expectation in the NFL. this does nothing to down grade their NCAA accomplishments.
Players discussed here are graded on their performance during their time in college.
What they did for their school.

Free ride due to your talent where ever you go,
A coach that can get a qb to the next level,
Why would Andrew Luck pick WVU over Stanford.
I know who his dad is, and what his position is at WVU,
but seriously.
A free education from WVU or from Stanford?
It's a no brainer!
His talent would have gotten him to the league at whichever school he chose.

And he has done so, Stanford education vs WVU, and with the academic requirements Harbaugh wouldn't have fought so hard to get him if he didn't have faith in his study and work habbits.

If you are that thick, to try and make the educational standards and achievements of the two schools comparable, then there is no reason to ever consider your opinions of any value.
Please tell me you are just being a stubborn homer!

and now you are starting to sound like your buddy peake... (you know, the guy that stated, back in 06 or 07, in one thread he was in Morgantown for the WVU/Marshall game and then a week or so later on another thread said he was in Nashville for the Michigan/Vandy game... both games being played on the same day with the same kick off time.)... saying my opinions have no value
where did i say anything about either schools standards or achievements? What I did say was that Oliver Luck has done well for his family with his WVU degree. If you can't see that I'd say you are the one who is thick headed and opinions have little value.

Re: The state of WVU Football
Your statement about the elder Luck, insinuates that his WVU education was equal to what Andrew us getting at Stanford. This is extremely false.
Oliver has worked very hard, and earned what he has achieved. I'm sure his private catholic HS education in Cleveland laid the foundation for his success. His Rhodes scholar finalist is quite an achievement.
But you phrase your statements through the last several posts in a way that makes the WVU level of education seem as on par with Stanford, and that is blatantly false! That's the only issue I have with it.

Re: The state of WVU Football
My statement is exactly what it was.... Oliver Luck did fine with his WVU education. I think it would be a safe bet to say Andrew learned a lot from seeing his father work for what he has... if not, he wouldn't be having the success he is having at Stanford.
Obviously the name on the paper is more important to you than the results of an individuals work after earning that paper.

Re: The state of WVU Football
Because the name on the paper is considered better by the entire world.
Oliver Luck did well for himself, but I believe he'd agree that Stanford offers his son advantages that he never had and that Andrew wouldn't have at WVU, or 95% of the other schools for that matter.

Re: The state of WVU Football
Daddy Oliver was a Rhodes scholar while at WVU and was a decent qb in his own right in college and in the pro's for a while. If you've got a smart kid that can qualify and have a school like Stanford accept you then by all means, take that and run with it. The degrees from schools such as the Stanford's and Vanderbilt's of the world have a lot more academic clout than a lot of your "athletic universities" by far. If you become a very good pro athelete and can sit on that for a living making millions then you can retire in style at an early age if you manage your money right. Since the percentage of that happening is not very high, then I'd prefer a degree from a fine academic institution rather than one from a "diploma mill". JMO

Nike equipped both Pitt (Steel Industry) and WVU (Coal mining Industry) with those uniforms to represent the above stated "best known industries" of the city / state. The WVU uniforms from helmet down had shades of gray & black smatters with dust colors (representing stereotypically what most miners look like when coming home from a hard days work at the mines).Raiderball wrote:What uniforms?gahs4ever wrote:Outside of Oregon, ugliest uniforms Ive ever seen!

I know all about that uniform. Trying to figure out which one forever thinks is so ugly.... if it is the gold on gold i might agree.
