Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
my facutal stats say that a year to two years after a top recruiting class you are going to be pretty good. I don't think that really is debateable.
You see UM lossing 7 games this season? You have to be kidding. Anyways another reason I can't take some of this stuff said on here too serious.
I didn't say they would be great this year either, I said improved, and that with the recruiting class of 2012 UM's future looks very bright.HOw any of you are taking what I have said any other way I have no clue.

You know instead of giving people crap like well Charlie Weis did it to and failed, well how about Nick Saban, or Urban Meyer? THose guys had killer recuiting classes and won big.
Will Hoke go through a transition process? Of course. Why anyone even has to suggest it is silly. Don't forget NIck Saban had to at Bama, as did Tress at OSU, as did many others. Why any of you are acting as though I think UM will win the NC this year is hilarious given what I have said. I laid out why I think UM is going to be back very soon and why I have confidence in the new staff. I didn't make any bold predictions that UM is going to be a super power this year, just the future imo is very bright, and you can see it starting with the recruiting class. Will all of the 4 and 5 stars be huge stars in their career? No. This doesn't happen at any school, some pan out and some don't, but one thing is certain that if you bring in enough talent then you are going to be pretty good (look at the top 3-5 teams year in and out in recruiting rankings).

Today Kyle Kalis's father called into a radio show in Cleveland and stated that Brady Hoke was manipulating his son, Kyle!
Stay Classy Michigan!!!
Stay Classy Michigan!!!
Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
Yep, meanwhile his mother no longer lives with his Dad and his stepfather and mother accompanied him to Ann Arbor while Dad the die hard buckeye calls into a radio show to express how he has his sons best interest in mind. What a classy parent calling into a radio show and under minding his sons decision. You stay classy buckeye Dad.
If by pressuring you mean saying we have two more spots for OL in this class and you better jump on board, then yes he was pressured. Meanwhile Michigan leads for 5-star Jordan Diamond and 5-star JOsh Banner is due in for the BBQ this week. Spots are filling up so either jump on board or the train is leaving you behind.

But I doubt that Hoke has the condescending, hypocrytical, hubristic skills that the Vest honed up to this point Dubs.

I love how you get joy in the small victories of recruiting wars UM has with tOSU. It wont really matter anyway come November.

No I actually invest a lot of time into my research rather then off the cuff non-intelligent remarks.
Like I said, if you don't start getting equal to greater talent, you don't beat your opponents or to be exact OSU.
Chris Spielman on Michigans talent:
"I think some of it is youth, but some of it's got to be talent, right?â€
“When you have a team like Wisconsin that can line up and run the ball 34 out of 35 plays, 24 or 25 straight times down your throat and you know they're not changing and you can do absolutely nothing to stop it, you have a talent deficiency, and it's clear and evident that they do,†Spielman said.
“(Coach Rodriguez) needs to reevaluate, 'What's our philosophy and what type of player are we going to get?' And they better get on our recruiting high horse and start going into living rooms and getting All-Americans and getting players that fit the Michigan defensive model that's been established over 100 years of talented players, NFL-ready type players who come in, play hard, play it with a level of tenacity and talent, which I'm used to seeing at Michigan.â€
“They had a defensive back (Charles Woodson) from Ohio who won the Heisman Trophy for crying out loud, the NFL MVP. Frankly, they don't have any of those guys on their roster,†Spielman said.
“One kid, the (Mike) Martin kid. Other than that, a lot of guys would be nice little subs at Indiana.â€
Chris Carter said similar things on Mike and Mike after The Game. So with that being said, you have to recruit and recruit well to beat OSU. The fact you keep playing it off despite fact after fact makes you look like the everyday fan at the bar who likes to throw out their opinion without having actual merit to back any of it up. As I laid out in my previous post, it all starts with recruiting.
So please keep saying wait until November, while MIchigan returns 18 of 22 starters things will be different. Remember, "the pride comes before the fall".

BTW, that information Kalis came from Bill Greene, OSU insider. It would be nice if you actually took some time and put some effort and time into your research (or lack there of).
Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
I guess some of you dont want to hear about recruiting, especially individuals who dont care for the blue, but for those of you who do care and want solid info, here is some for you.
Dymonte Thomas, RB and cousin of current wavering OSU commit Brionte Dunn, is considered the top player in Ohio for the class of 2013. I know it is a long way a way but here are some recent comments from Thomas.
"I really liked Michigan and they were great to me when I visited. Coach (Greg) Mattison is great, and he coached in the NFL, so you know he knows what he's talking about. I would say they are on top right now."
On OSU-I would be interested in them because they are a top school, but at the same time I want to see how things go with the NCAA. My cousin, Brionte Dunn, is trying to get me to Ohio State, but I just kid him that we should go to Michigan together

Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
Ohio State is going to have a few less schollies to award here before long. A lot of young talent, who would have went to OSU,are going to go elsewhere. OSU will still get, lets say,15 really good kids. But not almost ALL they want. A lot of these athletes are quickly going to understand that if they go to OSU in the next few years, they will NOT have the oppy to play in the BIG championship game, play in a bowl game,or compete for the BCS title. This is going to happen. Finally. Why? They are going to be punished for playing ineligible players by the NCAA the entire season of 2010 and the coach knew it. They vacated 12 wins. That would have been done anyways. The NCAA will hit them in the wallet as far as the immediate future goes and slow the monster down. Why did this all unfold? Its simple. The hubristic Vest thought he had a BCS Championship caliber team last year. Blew up in his face. AND there is nothing the cronies for the Cash Cow can do now but take their medicine. And it is about time.
Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
Interesting email I received yesterday... Thought it was interesting to share.
Dear Michigan Fans:
We thank you for being our most loyal fans, spectators, and supporters. As a University of Michigan season ticket holder, a UM alumnus or a member of any booster organization, you are by NCAA definition a representative of UM’s athletics interests. UM is held responsible for anything you do related to UM’s prospects and/or our current student-athletes.
The NCAA has strictly limited the role you, as a Michigan Fan, may take with regard to prospects and student-athletes. The penalties for breaking those rules, whether by accident or intentional, can be severe. Any infraction will jeopardize a prospect or student-athletes opportunity to attend and compete for UM no matter how minor it may seem. In addition, you might expose UM to NCAA sanctions, and you could be disassociated from the program.
University of Michigan’s athletics programs value your continued support. The best message you can take from this information is to ask someone who is knowledgeable about NCAA rules before taking any action with a recruit or a student-athlete. The rules are complicated, and there are far too many to mention in this e-mail. Therefore, if you have any questions do not hesitate to contact the Compliance Services Office at (734)-615-7341 or by e-mail at compliance@umich.edu.
GO BLUE!!!
Elizabeth Heinrich, Interim Chief of Compliance
The Top 10 Things Fans & Friends of Michigan Athletics Should Know:
1. ALWAYS ASK BEFORE YOU ACT! Breaking NCAA rules can render prospects and student-athletes ineligible for competition at the University of Michigan. The NCAA holds the University of Michigan accountable for the actions of its fans and friends.
2. You MAY NOT make recruiting contacts with prospects, their relatives or legal guardians. A prospective student-athlete is a student who has started classes for the ninth grade (7th grade for Men’s Basketball) or above. This prohibition includes written and telephone communications.
3. You MAY NOT contact a prospect’s coach, principal, or counselor in an attempt to evaluate the prospect.
4. You MAY send newspaper clippings and other information about talented prospects to the Michigan coaching staff. Also, you MAY continue established relationships with friends and neighbors whose children are prospects or current student-athletes, provided the relationship pre-dates reaching prospect status and is not based on their status as an athlete.
5. You MAY attend high school or junior college competitions provided no contact occurs with the prospect or the prospect’s relatives.
6. You MAY NOT entertain any coach from a junior or senior high school, preparatory school, or junior college or provide them with tickets or any other type of benefit.
7. You MAY NOT become involved in arranging for a prospect, a Michigan student-athlete or their family to receive gifts, money or financial benefits of any kind.
8. You MAY NOT provide transportation to a prospect, student-athlete or their friends and family. Also, you MAY NOT spend funds to entertain prospects, student-athletes or their friends and family.
9. You MAY employ a student-athlete provided you are paying them only for the work they actually perform, paying the going rate for similar services, are not paying them or providing perks based on their status as a student-athlete and the employment has been approved by the Compliance Services Office.
10.You MAY NOT use a photo or name of a student-athlete for commercial purposes or sell student-athlete memorabilia.
Thank You For Your Support!

Yeah I got that too, they do it every year, well at least they have since I want to say 2006 when the Myspace/Kentucky fans were basically breaking NCAA rules by having contact with these kids via the internet. They still don't know how to police this situation, and it still goes on for every school, but at least UM is proactive about it.
Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
I agree that those variables make the difference between good and great coaches. I think Coach Hoke's exposure to those pressures, as a member of the Michigan staff in the past, have prepared him for this job. I will also acknowledge that the ability to recruit is not the end all in coaching, what you do with them after you have them is what's important. In the short time that Coach Hoke has been around I have seen enough "good things" to be encouraged. The Flying Dutchman wrote:91Buckeye, While what you say might be true, you need to remember that like Brian Kelly there was no pressure to win at their other stops. Like Kelly at CMU and Cincy, I doubt Hoke had many media requests at BSU and SDSU. The one big difference that Kelly found out was everyone wants a piece of your time. Hoke will be expected to have a radio and tv show, he will be asked to speak at numerous alumni events and ESPN and others will want his time. I am not saying the man will not succeed, all I am saying is before fans(like peake) annoit him as the second coming of Lombardi and have Mich.playing Green Bay in Feb you need to give him time. I imagine he and Kelly are going to have some great battles over the years to come.

Re: wrote this on another Michigan Site
Ohio State fan here i seen where someone posted Michigan would lose 7 games im going to disagree i think they will lose 3 or 4 i for one do hope with the big recruits Michigan has coming in they do get better and i hope the game with my Buckeyes gets more competitive it's always exciting but would be so much better if it were to mean something more than just bragging rights. I look for Denard Robinson to have a breakout year and be in the race for Hiesman ! Good luck to Michigan this year and may the Buckeyes win
