CFB UPSET: #2 Ohio State falls to Penn State 24-21

Post by Valenth »

Congrats to the Nittany Lions this evening. They clearly wanted it more. Ohio State looked flat and let Penn State Hang around. And it come back to bite the Buckeyes. Time to regroup for the Buckeyes.

Under 200 yards of offense for the Nittany Lions. They should of called that pass interference at the end though.

They definitely should have called that. But, there is still no excuse. The Buckeyes should not have put themselves in that position. The defense played extremely well tonight!! But, the offensive line looked like a bunch of high schoolers, they flat out played awful. Penn State wanted this game more. But, I don't believe the season is over. If they go out and route every game they play the rest of the year, they still have a shot.

IMO the offensive line looked WINDED and SLOW.... not sure why... But a lot of work needs to be done... Playcalling was terrible again tonight as well

Pathetic!! Very Stagnant Offense. Terrible Special Teams play. Just went through the motions. Again, offense taking too long to get into plays allows for predictability. Samuel completely disappeared after the TD run. Once again, play calling got them again. Happens at least 1 or 2 a year. Pathetic!

Well we got the clunker out of the way. Va Tech, Michigan St, now Penn State. Maybe that's what it takes to get them focused. Hope we find an O line soon.

I agree Valenth, except Michigan State last year was a better team than this Penn State team.

Can't blame this on penalties. They got beat. They didn't play good enough to win. Period.

I agree. OSU sucked tonight!!! Pathetic.
However, I find it hard to believe a team can go the whole game with 1 Penalty. Wow!!!
That pass interference (which it was) couldve bailed them out of this game. BUT NO CALL

Offensive line needs help with the play calling. Getting in passing situations with empty backfield and no TE to help block. Then no WR getting open or JT throwing the ball downfield. They do not help the offensive line set up blocks. Bring in an extra lineman to help block. Not like having all the Wr's split out and not throwing them the ball. JT leads the team in rushes again. Time to adapt.

Let's keep in mind this is a young team. They put a ton of players in the NFL last year. Not excusing the loss but if going undefeated was easy, they'd do it every year. Let's see what team shows up next week. Beat Michigan!

First, all credit is due Penn State. They dominated OSU's offensive line after the Bucks went up 21-7. The two blocked kicks and forcing Barrett to run for his life in the fourth quarter was the difference. PSU dared the Buck's to beat them by throwing and they could not. Simply put OSU's offensive line became the Lion's play toy.

The loss obviously knocks out OSU's chances for a playoff spot and puts a chance for a Big Ten championship in doubt. Still the loss may serve as a wake up call but they will have to turn it around fast, because the Bucks could easily have two to three more losses before seasons end. Karma is always interesting when a team of 4-5 star talents with an elite coach blows a game to a team with three star kids and a supposedly mediocre coach. Still Meyer is 55-5 at OSU but ironically it looks like he will have only one BIG championship to show for his 5 years as head coach.

Go Bucks the rest of the way!

OSU 5.7 yards per pass and 4.2 yards per run. But OSU passes the ball 43 times and runs it 40. JT runs 24 times. A lot of those were on pass plays.
