Both 8th grade teams played very well. The 8th grade girls won and worked very well together.
The boys had a very good game with a 58-27 win. Hafer, Schmidt had an excellent night under the boards. Both rebounded very well and blocked several lay-ups. I would say those two were the top scorers. Evans and Shaffer played great defense and both had several steals on the night. Clay just controlled the game. Compton did a good job of getting the bench in. I was disappointed that Madden didn't get more play time. In the 4th quarter Compton went to the 7th graders to finish out the game. I hadn't seen much of them this year but all I can say is wow. Hurt had to have at least 10 points in his 6:00 minutes of play. He was a very strong player on offense and defense. Phipps for his size played awesome defense. Forced several turnovers and made several steals.

Hope to make the Western game it should be a great battle!!

GO PANTHERS!!! :aaaaa5

LOLOLOL!
Wish I could, but I'm not the coach. Maybe he didn't want the 7TH grade parents whooping up on him anymore for not allowing their boy have more playing time, so he let the true 8th graders sit! HMMMMMMM?????!!!!!!

WHAT IS WITH YOU #1clayfan!!! BOY is your name WRONG!!! If anyone says anything about the 7th grade team you get offended!! You pretend to be supporting BOTH teams but when anyone says anything you automatically blame the 7th grade parents!! Let me set the record straight before you assume I'm a 7th grade parent. I'm not!! I read what rosemount rebel wrote and I understood what he wrote and then you replied and realized what you said was wrong you then removed it. Maybe as an 8th grade parent it is your fear that there are 7th graders that are better players then yours.
I remember last year when my son was on the 8th grade team, some of the statements you made. You sure didn't make POSITIVE statements then (and don't try to say that you wasn't on here last year I know who you are). So buddy when you pretend to be promoting BOTH teams don't!!! You TRULY ARE NOT THE #1CLAYFAN!!!

Let's go panthers I hope all THREE of the teams win!!!

Rainsteven, before you assume that I am an 8th grade parent i'm not!!!!!! As a matter of fact I do not have a child on the Jr. High Team, and if you have read ALL my previous post you would have realized that! I just enjoy coming and watching all the teams play including the 7th and 8th grade boys and the girls. And you are correct in saying that I was on here last year, because I joined 12-13-09!
And as for you stating that I get offended when anyone mentions something about the 7th grade boys well it's not the boys that I get frustrated with it's the PARENTS!!!!!! Sitting in the stands and listening to them criticizing the way the coach coaches or the way the other kids threw the ball, and so on and so on, please their kids, let them play and have fun. I just think it's funny how serious that some parents take this stuff.
Oh and by the way, this is my first year to come and watch the lower grades play, I just took what the coach said at meet the panther night serious and wanted to see for my self. And yes he was right they are good, ALL THE TEAMS!
So good luck teams and have an awesome season, your all doing great. Looking forward to coming and watching some more of you guys games, but I think I'll keep my distance from the haters section!!!! LOL.

Gripe! Gripe! Gripe! The coach has the boys playing GREAT, but some of you need to find a reason to gripe.
Let's just fire him now, and hire Miller or Guilliland.

#1clayfan are you sure its 7th grade parents or was it the 8th grade parents??? HMMM are you sitting in the Clay section??? Because most of the 7th and 8th grade parents sit together. Since you "JOINED" you have done nothing but start trouble. You started questioning why a kid was held back. You started in on someone that was very familar with the New Boston team and knew that they were a mixed team and not that strong of a team and you opened your mouth and inserted your foot!! If you are hearing negative comments at games then be a "man" about it and call them on it!!! So don't knock a group if you don't know the whole truth and know them. I know most of the 7th and 8th grade parents buddy, and they are a friendly group and positive. As for keeping from the haters section, how do you get away from yourself?? You seem to be the hater!!
If you are going to act this way then I don't think the 7th and 8th grade teams (boys or girls) need you around!! So do away of your pretense that you are Clay's #1 fan.

LOL! Your feisty!
Glad to see that you done your research! Now that's over, what else would you like me to set you straight on? LOL!
Calm down lady, were on an opinionated sight, and we have all stated our opinions, including you. Now that you've stated your opinion and I've read it, I've come to the realization that you are so right! I'm a big ole' Meany.
And yes, some of my comments were a little spiteful and I do sincerely apologize for them, but just asking questions is not starting trouble as you were indicating, just curious? And I do promise that the next time I do post any comments on here I'll be sure to run them by you, deal?

And to my #1 teams of all time, Good Luck have a great game, Read on another forum that eastern played western and eastern beat them, well both 7th and 8th Clay teams played eastern and beat them, so we know you'll do great! Best of luck and play like we all know you can.
GO PANTHERS!!!!!! :aaaaa83

Sorry about that, Western 7th grade won over Eastern, But no worries, you boys will do great, just keep doing what you've been doing and you'll come home with another victory under your belts!
