Fairland 7th grade boys basketball?
Re: Fairland 7th grade boys basketball?
Next year's team of this years? this year the team was small and slow. They tried hard but maybe they are better suited for another sport? Outmatched in every game I saw them play. I think they won one game. Good attitudes though to always be getting thumped!

did u think the coach did a good job coachin...bc i heard he has nvr even played basketball
Re: Fairland 7th grade boys basketball?
I think he encouraged the boys and seemed to coach the whole game even when they were getting killed. You could have had Coach K from Duke and the outcome would have been the same. This group of boys were just not great baskeball players. Maybe athletes in other areas but basketball is not one of them.

ff12 must have an ax to grind.
There are several great coaches that never played the first minute of basketball also there are several coaches that may have been on there high school team but never seen the floor.
Norm Persin - played college baseball at Rio Grande. He may have been an average basketball player on his high school team. 600+ wins , State Championship, to many more accomplishments to name.
Chad Belville - I don’t think he ever played high school basketball. Three straight district final appearances, 1 regional appearance and a conference championship, and 100+ wins
Nathan Speed - I think he had a uniform in high school. His team is playing for a district championship Saturday night. He also won a couple conference titles as the girls coach and a few more as the Jr high coach.
Jeff Gorby- He may be played his freshman year not sure if played that year or not. Four straight District appearances, 1 regional appearance, and 1 conference title at the high school as the varsity assistant. Conference Champion this past season at the junior high
The best player’s don’t always make the best coaches. I honestly think the young men at Fairland played their hearts out this past season. If John Wooden would have coached this team they would have had the same record.
Young coaches will make mistakes, but we all have made a mistake or two during our first couple years on the job. If he is still making mistakes in year three or four then maybe you call for his head, but not after the first year.
Lastly its seventh grade basketball if they have one kid move onto play college ball out of this group it won’t be in basketball so let them have fun and be kids.
