Looking for a spring basketball league. I have a 4th grader who wants to play while sofball is going on.
Does anyone know of a league she can get into without a team?
Thanks

Re: Spring Basketball League
You can bring a team or we can put kids on a team. We are trying to evenly match teams, and we have requests from some coaches to bring teams and we are okay with that. Costs is 25 dollars per kid plus you bring your own jerseys if you have a team or 25 dollars per kid and t-shirt fee of around 7 dollars if you want kid placed on a team. League will run from after Easter until school is out. Approximately 8 weeks plus a tournament. We also have info on camps and clinics that we do. With the registration of your team one free clinic is provided by our organization. Looking forward to a good basketball atmosphere and positive environment for kids to have fun and learn the game.

No, sorry. As of now it is for girls only. We may add boys at a later date. Just trying to get it up and running this year. So far lots of interest. Have 5 or 6 teams so far.

Can 2nd grade girls play? Is the 3rd grade league on regular rims or lowered?

Re: Spring Basketball League
Rim height for 3/4 division is 8 1/2 ft. We will play two 12 minute halves with 4 timeouts per game. Alternate players every 3 minutes of game except last 6 minutes of game. 3rd and 4th division no pressing except last 3 minutes of each half. 5th and 6th division pressing last 6 minutes of each half. No pressing after 10 point lead both divisions. 5th and 6th division play on 10 ft rims. Emphasis on girls learning fundamentals and flow of game. Looking to start April 5th if all goes as planned. More details to follow in next 2 weeks as plans are finalized.

No. It is sponsored by Lawrence Co. Lightning girls AAU basketball team. Camps and clinics also provided. Focus is on fundamentals and a positive playing experience for girls. Local High School coaches also will be involved. Sign up sheets will be available at Chesapeake Community Center starting next week.

As of now all games at Community Center. Funds from this league will be used for upgrades at Community Center. Possibly will use another gym depending on availability.
