GUN CONTROL
GUN CONTROL
After readingthe following historical facts, read the part about Switzerland twice. A LITTLE GUN HISTORY In 1929, the SovietUnion established gun control.. From 1929 to 1953, about 20 million dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ In 1911, Turkey established gun control. From 1915 to 1917,1.5 million Armenians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ Germany established gun control in 1938 and from 1939 to 1945, a total of 13 million Europeans who were unable to defend themselves were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ China established gun control in 1935. From 1948 to 1952, 20 million political dissidents, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated ------------------------------ Guatemala established gun control in 1964. From 1964 to 1981,100,000 Mayan Indians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. ------------------------------ Uganda established gun control in 1970. From 1971 to 1979,300,000 Christians, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated ------------------------------ Cambodia established gun control in 1956.. From 1975 to 1977, onemillion educated people, unable to defend themselves, were rounded up and exterminated. 20 ----------------------------- Defenselesspeople rounded up and exterminated in the 20th Century because of gun control: 56 million. ------------------------------ It has now been 12 months since gun owners in Australia wereforced by new law to surrender 640,381 personal firearms to be destroyed by their own Government, a program costing Australia taxpayers more than$500 million dollars. The first year results are now in: List of 7 items: Australia-wide, homicides are up 3.2 percent. Australia-wide, assaults are up 8.6 percent. Australia-wide, armed robberies are up 44 percent (yes, 44 percent)! In the state of Victoria alone, homicides with firearms are now up 300 percent.. Note that while the law-abiding citizens turned themin, the criminals did not, and criminals still possess their guns! While figures over the previous 25 years showed a steady decrease in armed robbery with firearms, this has changed drastically upward in the past 12 months, since criminals now are guaranteed that their prey is unarmed. There has also been a dramatic increase in break-ins and assaults ofthe ELDERLY. Australian politicians are at a loss to explain howpublic safety has decreased, after such monumental effort, and expense was expended in successfully ridding Australian society of guns. The Australian experience and the other historical facts above prove it. You won't see this data on the US evening news, or hearpoliticians disseminating this information. Guns in the hands of honest citizens save lives and property and, yes, gun-control laws adversely affect only the law-abiding citizens Take note my fellow Americans, before it's too late! The next time someone talks in favor of gun control, please remind them of this history lesson.. With guns, we are 'citizens.' Without them, weare 'subjects'. During WWII the Japanese decided not to invade America because they knew most Americans were ARMED! If you value your freedom, please spread this anti-gun control message to all of your friends. The purpose of fighting is to win. There is no possible victory in defense. The sword is more important than the shield, and skillis more important than either. The final weapon is the brain. Allelse is supplemental. SWITZERLAND ISSUES EVERY HOUSEHOLD A GUN! SWITZERLAND'S GOVERNMENT TRAINS EVERY ADULT THEY ISSUE A RIFLE. SWITZERLAND HAS THE LOWEST GUN RELATED CRIME RATE OF ANY CIVILIZED COUNTRY IN THE WORLD!!! IT'S A NOBRAINER! DON'T LET OURGOVERNMENT WASTE MILLIONS OF OUR TAX DOLLARS IN AN EFFORT TO MAKE ALL LAW ABIDING CITIZENS AN EASY TARGET. I'm afirm believer of the 2nd Amendment! Just think how powerful our government is getting!

And you did verify this e-mail that has been circulating for a rather long time?

Almost as believable as my peta story.
But it does make a good story and get the crazies up in arms.

Re: GUN CONTROL
Here's a FACT! During Hurricane Katrina, the police confiscated (illegally) law abiding citizens guns from them. This rendered many unable to defend themselves. Almost all have never had their guns returned to them either. One was a grandmother who was wrestled to the ground and her gun stripped from her hands! GOP rising star Bobby Jindal, who is now governor of the state, has voiced outright disbelief and outrage that this happened and has vowed to make sure with all his power something like this never happens again.
Don't think what happened in Russia and China and Nazi Germany couldn't happen here? think again! Here's some comments from this article and interview of Bobby Jindal about this incident:
Don't think what happened in Russia and China and Nazi Germany couldn't happen here? think again! Here's some comments from this article and interview of Bobby Jindal about this incident:
Glenn, that's exactly right and it's amazing to me you didn't see more front page stories, breaking news on national news channels. Over 1,000 guns were confiscated from law-abiding citizens, especially in the city of New Orleans, and the stories would shock you. Wayne La Pierre came down here and said it was the first time in American history, the only time that the government, through the threat of force, took away weapons, guns from law-abiding citizens.
Now, think about that. You never thought it would happen in the sportsman's paradise. We're talking about just to put some names and faces to this, there was a grandfather, a guy who was taking care of his family. Three men came to him with a machete. He was able to scare them off with a gun that he had. Time and time again, business owners used their guns to defend themselves. Now, remember there were signs saying if you loot, we'll shoot. The civil authorities said -- a lot of the First Responders did an amazing job. They can't be an every block, every corner, every hour of every day. There's no power. You can't call 911. No water. There's all kinds of rumors and stories about looters and thieves out there. So the civil -- you know, the civil order's not what it normally is. You have to be able to defend yourself. And then you hear these stories, and the NRA's got a powerful video on their web page about their grandmother, they broke into her home, wrestled her to the ground, took away her gun. She was later robbed. The bar, the business owner who defended his business with his gun. They confiscated his gun and then literally within several hours, next day, his business was robbed. The search and rescue team that try to go in and help people, they were turned around. They even -- federal law agencies that deputized some of their officials to be able to carry weapons, they weren't allowed to go in because they had weapons. And they said, we can't go in there unless we can defend ourselves. With all the stories about looting and people potentially even shooting at First Responders, there are stories after stories, and every time you talk to people about this, they just tell you, it couldn't have happened in America. They cannot believe that it actually happened, but it did. Happened in New Orleans, happened -- 1,000 guns were confiscated.
We passed -- I authored a federal law that has become law in 2006, July 2006 that basically says they cannot do this, God forbid if there's another natural manmade disaster, they can't come in and take away your gun. The police organizations get it. They said, yeah, it doesn't make sense, we don't want to be in the business of going after law-abiding citizens; we've got enough work to be doing.

Re: GUN CONTROL
Gun control is just a double standard. Those of the liberal persuation on the issue are the same folks who tell us we might as well legalize all the drugs because people are going to use them anyway. By the same token, the bad guys are always gonna find ways to get guns and or kill people.

Not for gun control, just against those who post outlandish material to promote an issue.
Don't matter if it is for or against an issue. Most e-mail is either to twist the tail of the tiger or to get emotions aroused.
The truth is bad enough without all of the embellishments.

Now, everybody please read this last paragraph very closely and think REAL CAREFULLY.
Is it just me missing something or isint this kind of stupid and an absolute waste of time to pass a federal law banning something that was already SUPPOSED to be banned? Are the politicians really this stupid or are they planning on us being that stupid?
Is everyone finally starting to see that all these morons, dem or repub, are only in it for themselves?

Re: GUN CONTROL
No..not me.
Anyway, here's what the bill said:
99 members of the House actually voted against this bill. In otherwords, if there was a terrible natural disaster in this area, it would be just fine with them if citizens were stripped of their guns. Yeah yeah yeah..that's not too likely to happen some might say but it did in New Orleans!
Anyway, here's what the bill said:
Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006 - Amends the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act to prohibit any U.S. officer or employee or any person operating under federal authority, while acting in support of relief from a major disaster or emergency, from: (1) seizing or prohibiting possession of any firearm the possession of which is not otherwise prohibited (other than for forfeiture in compliance with federal law or as evidence in a criminal investigation); (2) requiring registration of any firearm not otherwise required; or (3) prohibiting the carrying of a firearm by any person otherwise authorized to carry a firearm.
Provides that nothing under this Act shall be construed to prohibit requiring the temporary surrender of a firearm as a condition for entry into any mode of transportation used for rescue or evacuation during a major disaster or emergency.
Authorizes any individual aggrieved by a violation of this Act to seek relief by bringing an action for redress for deprivation of rights and by bringing a civil action in U.S. district court for return of a confiscated firearm.
99 members of the House actually voted against this bill. In otherwords, if there was a terrible natural disaster in this area, it would be just fine with them if citizens were stripped of their guns. Yeah yeah yeah..that's not too likely to happen some might say but it did in New Orleans!

My point is that your taking stuff Glenn Beck has said and posting it. I am all for gun rights. I believe that all Americans should be able to own guns, but Glenn Beck is a piece of S@#$ How on Gods green Earth can you listen to that man. He doesn't even have his own political views. Listen to the Crap that came out of his mouth when he was on CNN then listen to the CRAP that comes out of his mouth on FOX now. He completely changed his views so he can spew his survivalist crap on FOX after CNN had enough of him. If you are going to quote people at least quote people who are sane and tell the truth.

Re: GUN CONTROL
Glenn Beck didn't say that..Bobby Jindal did, he's the Governor of LA and he is the one who introduced this bill. Beck was simply interviewing him. The videos I provided also did not come from Beck. Personally, I like Beck...he might sound out there at times but...much of the time, it's easy (if you want to be honest to yourself) to see he's right on the money.
Again, I'm NOT quoting Beck, I'm quoting Jindal. Don't get so blinded by the liberal left that you discount everything that Beck says or anyone who's around him

Remember, this thread began with a posting of one of the bogus e-mails going around.
Johnny Carson's "The great Karnak"
And the answer is.
Yeah, but.........................
or What if....................
The answer when the validity of these e-mails is dispelled.
And the beat goes on.
