I made it through workout number two and have to say it was worse than yesterday and it only made me more ashamed of the shape I am in.

On the bright side I am making this huge change and in time things will be better.

Getting in this shape wasn't as hard as getting out of it.

I have changed my legs workout this summer. I have added dumbbell bench squats (close legs) to my heavy leg presses, extensions, seated Hammer leg curls and calf raises.

Last workout, I did 5 sets of 13 reps while holding two 60-pound dumbbells. My legs are really feeling it too!

I am trying to increase the weight every week on these squats while maintaining strict form. The 65 pounders are scheduled for this week.

There is always a site or a book that shows what each exercise is.
I have to look up the names every once and a while.

Leg day today. I used the 65 pound dumbbells and easily did 5 sets of 13 reps on the bench squats. The 70 pounders are up for next week.

This is a safe way to squat and is much harder than what most think. I had a man that was squatting 375 pounds try just one set with me today using the 60 pounders. He said he felt it in the legs with the first rep- and he struggled to do 8 reps.

Working on week nine of the p90x workout.

My strength is way down by doing this but overall things are good with this.

I have been trying to get in the gym and do double workouts on cardio day just to try and do exercises that increase strength that is no part of the P90X package.

Leg day today. I used the 75 pound dumbbells and managed to get in 5 sets of 13 reps on the bench squats. My legs are burning good.

I am walking outside in the evenings for cardio. Those 3-to- 4 mile walks are tough in this heat, but well worth the sweat!
