Prayers from Viking land.
The school's athletic boosters donated their have of the split the pot to Grant's family $275.00.
The VC youth basketball teams made a get well card for him and raised another $250.00.
It was a touching moment before the tip off of the VC, Wellston varsity game tonight when Mr Waddell, the high school principal, made the announcement and when Trisden (sry sp?) Bartoe presented the card and money to Grant's mother and Wellston cheerleader sister. Made one feel proud to be a Viking.
GET WELL SOON GRANT.
From a Viking who was born in Wellston, and knows all too well what a drag it is to be in the hospital for a lengthy stay.
GO GRANT

Re: Prayers needed in Wellston
The outpouring of support and prayers truly transcends school district boundaries and for that matter state boundaries.
The Vikings not only showed their wonderful support with their generosity Friday, but also have another event (a bingo benefit sponsored by their FCCLA group at school) upcoming in early February.
The people of southeastern Ohio, as much as we enjoy our rivalries with each other, are really one big community in times of need. Thanks to you all for your wonderful thoughts and prayers for Grant and the family.

Re: Prayers needed in Wellston
The Jackson Ironladies came out in their Grant Superman shirts for warmups and donated all concession stand profits to Grant's fund. It's good to see kids doing important things for others.

I also know that the Vikings and Buckeyes passed the hat last week at the boys varsity basketball game.
