Re: Area Gas Prices?
Cheapest was 3.68 today. Others lowered prices from 3.85 to 3.71 this morning.
NFC...you will notice that the majority of stations, at least in the Zanesville area and I am sure in others as well, depending on how the prices are at the closing bell on Wall Street on Friday afternoons, reflects when the price change will occur over the weekend.
If the prices close up, some stations will raise their price immediately, while other will not raise their price until Sunday afternoon or early Sunday evening. If the price drops on Friday, many stations will keep their prices high to get as much as they can out of it, while other will drop the price so they can get more customers while the price is up at the other places.
Regardless if the price goes up or down, all stations will have their prices by late Sunday to reflect nearly the same price in their general vicinity. It has to be done before the opening bell on the next business day. This process has been going on for years.
I miss they days of the mom and pops stations where they would set the price when they receive a shipment and keep it the same price until their next load came in.

Re: Area Gas Prices?
3.86 at all of the stations I passed on my way home from work.
On my way to work I had to stop and get gas and in doing so I spoke to the lady working. We got onto the subject of sales and how an article on yahoo was telling how sales for gas was down on the weekends and how it stated more people are only buying gas and little else at the stations. She said she closed on Sat night and her take for the whole night was 86 bucks and that is suppose to be their busy night.
They are the only station at this exit of the four that sale beer.

South Zanesville prices are at 3.65 and 3.67 today while the stations on the northend of Zanesville are 3.79. Stations in between those 2 areas that are along I-70 are 3.89

Re: Area Gas Prices?
Drove to Raleigh, NC for work this week, left Athens county with 3/4 of a tank of gas. Gas was $3.85 here. Drove 3 hours to Wytheville, VA, filled up for $3.55 a gallon. Drove to Raleigh, spent two days there, and came back yesterday. Stopped in Wytheville again and filled up, still $3.55 a gallon. Got home and still have close to 3/4 of a tank of gas. Never thought I'd be happy to say I got gas for $3.55 a gallon......
